What did you do in the garden today?

I must have missed something... What is the tincture for?

Black walnut hulls has medicinal properties. The hulls contain juglone, which has fungicidal and antibiotic properties.

It's high in antioxidants, is a good source of iodine, fights bacterial and viral infections, and parasites. It can also be used to treat ringworm, eczema, etc.

Plus more...these trees have so much to offer :thumbsup

I managed to get motivated at least a little bit. Got the shade garden cleaned out and laid down a strip of weed barrier, the heavy duty kind. Wired my metal rooster to a paver so he doesn’t get knocked/blown over all the time and moved him outside, put my ducks on the trellis in the center and picked up my tools. I had some trimmings from the welded wire I put around the lilacs, worked great for that! I’m going to give the crew some fresh water and call it a day. It’s supposed to get warm today, 89, and I’m hoping hubs will BBQ some chicken thighs tonight.

Those are some neat looking cones! & that looks like a seed to me.
Awoke to 32' and it dropped to 30 with a chill of 19.
Growing season is over.
More importantly the bugs are gone.
I put in two of the run window, just to block the wind.
Holy cow, it's so warm here & the mosquitos are insane! Can't wait for a good freeze to take them all out.

I took a walk thru the garden & was attacked by bees, mosquitos & flies! So weird for Oct. The wildflowers are all coming back to life like its summer.
