Yes, I do prioritize, a living animal comes 1st before other chores, & an injured animal immediatelyI am a garden putterer. Work a little on this, go weed that, then something else...
This time of year, I have to be more focused.

Good luck!!I did a seed inventory last night to see what I still have to sow and, thus, how many more raised beds I need to prep. Far more than I thought...
I also think my goat (Annie) is going to kid today or in the next 24 hours. She was carrying on REALLY loud this morning and urgently wanting me to comfort her. The tendons around her tail are clearly loosened now... And her bag is very full. I wish I could spend the day with her but I have work meetings that I can't miss so I'll just have to watch her throughout the day.

I just reactivated the baby watch cam since I can't stay in the barn all day...The kids arrived! A little bit trial by fire though.

Triplet boys () -two healthy, one dead. The
is bc boys don’t have much use in dairy, so was hoping for at least one girl.
She had them while we were gone for 2 hours (having checked on her for a while before leaving…absolutely no signs..), came back to 2 cleaned off and walking, nearly dry kids. We bumped her-didn’t appear to be any other babies. 2 hours later , after placenta delivered, she’s pushing, we see a water sac…. We go in bc this is not normal. Find a baby very deep with head fully back, and all legs underneath him. FWIW, a perfect birth position is “superman” style: front legs first with nose/muzzle sitting on top. Got him out, but he had passed already. Teen was very involved with this part of the delivery..good thing she’s not squeamish with things like this (spiders and bees are another story though).
These two boys look just like momma! One is slightly bigger than the other. Third one was similar in size, so all looked to be a good size and weight. Teen has named one “Peaches”, not sure on other.
Cute “sweater” pic. Mentor had me put sweaters in at first. We were installing heat lamp bc it was blowing and cold last night. They won’t wear them usually, but seamed to help. Just the top part of an old sock.
