What did you do in the garden today?

Just a quick walk through.
My moonflower looks kinda pitiful. Will see if it survives.
My first snake!
Didn’t realize there was a loofah growing on chair when I move it 😂

More cucumbers. I keep thinking these vines are reaching their end and nope

It must be the year for butternut squash
I had several of those about 5 years ago. 80-90 squash, lots of BIG ones. The last few years, not worth the space, because I got 2. So none this year.
It's just cornstarch. NO idea why it works.
Wait a minute... cornstarch works to keep bugs off you??? Am I understanding this correctly? Please tell me how to do this!!!

I will not wear DEET. Hubby can't stand the smell of the natural ones; citronella stinks, he says.

Good morning gardeners. I need to pick more peas today. Then I need to get started on weeding. We got more rain overnight. Yesterday’s temperatures were great. High in the upper 70’s. Two nights in a row sleeping with the windows open. It’s supposed to warm to the high 80’s with threats of tornadoes. That’s rare here. Yesterday I noticed some blossoms forming on the summer squash plants. Hopefully all goes well and I actually get squash this year. My butternut squash plants are looking real good finally and the okra and pumpkin are growing well too. I had to switch from the Ninja oven to my regular oven to cook my pizza last night. I think I used the wrong rack level and it just wasn’t baking right. I may try making brownies later. Maybe you should try making some cucumber soup @chicken opey. Something else to use up those cucumbers.

Cucumber soup? Sounds yummy!!
I found out my neighbor who is going thru cancer treatment has a craving for cucumbers and I’ve been taking her as many as she can stand 😂
I just want one week off from pickling . Just one

Doctor set me off but she asked for it. Diabetic doctor ordered labs and results sent to GP also. GP Called about high cholesterol. No! Statins gave me drug induced hepatitis and lowered my immune system allowing me to get toxoplasmosis. This got into my right eye ruining my vision in the right eye. They still want to push drugs even though my chart says allergic to statins. When I had my heart ablation they said arteries were clean - no buildup. Trying to kill me.

Has anyone suggested Zetia? It’s not a statin and works well to lower cholesterol.

Just finished picking nearly all the snap peas. Today’s haul is 2 1/4 pounds or 1000 grams. I love these peas because the pods are edible, so you get more food than regular peas. Tasty. Total harvest is currently at 4 1/2 pounds. Not bad for surviving the heatwave.
