I weeded another row today. The rain helped the plants, and the weeds loved it too.

I need to go out and try to dig out some potatoes. Hopefully I can get enough decent sized ones to dry for my husband and I to have some french fries.

My rooster became aggressive yesterday, so I didn't feed him this morning. I think he understands what will happen if he does it again.

I fed him in the afternoon, so his hens don't eat their eggs.

That looks like a good recipe, but if I try it I won't be removing the garlic cloves. Pickled garlic sounds pretty good to me.

Why will you up the vinegar/water ratio up to 50/50?

They do use the garlic, it gets boiled first, then added to the jars after. I would up the vinegar just because I love vinegar, lol. I was happy to find a recipe without sugar actually!

Love squash chips! Probably my favorite use of squash, super thin so they are like Lays chips.

Have you tried the squash fries? I had a couple of squash last year and was thinking of french fries and decided for squash fries. I should have cut them thinner because OMG they were so good. Thinner would have been better though.

Got my mower fixed but didn't have time or energy to rake grass. I'm not used to working while laying on the ground. Lots of aches and pains tonight.

I guess the forecast was right w the week of rain. We are on day 3 of rain. Loving the cooler temps (not 100s ).
Went worm hunting - horn worm. Chickens love these.
I think Daisy is happy I took cucumbers off her trellis.
The beans and cucumbers I planted are growing!
