What did you do in the garden today?

I pulled up three kale plants and tossed them to the chickens. Most of them are starting to bolt so the chickens will get the plants I'm not keeping for next year's seed.

I need to harvest the entire first generation of carrots I grew. I don't want the coming heat to mess them up before I eat them. The second generation is growing, but slowly.

I have the Olympics on in the background. Why is there a cable attached to the fencers' backs?

My dog disappeared yesterday. I let her out about 2 PM and laid down for a little over an hour. Got up and no dog. In that time someone called the police and said someone dumped the dog. Police came ran my plates called in the animal shelter and they took my dog off my deck. No one knocked on the door to ask is this your dog. I searched and had a sleepless night. Searched again today. Animal shelter open from 12 to 2. They had her and admitted she took her from my deck.
I’m so happy for you both that you found her!

WHAT the actual H*LL!?

Heat the milk to about 185 F. Cool to UNDER 120F.
The 185 changes the structure of the milk protein, is what I've read. The under 120 F is critical, as much over that, you'll kill the yogurt culture.
I think pasteurized milk is already heated to make it safe to consume.
The pasteurization process ensures that harmful bacteria are destroyed, making milk safe to drink. Louis Pasteur developed this process about 160 years ago to address food safety concerns related to milk consumption.

Hopefully you didn't have to pay anything to get her back since they took her from your property...
