As a kid, I used to mail big boxes of stuff to Australia all the time. My bestie over there would mail me stuff back... This sometimes included flowers, food, etc... Of course times have changed a lot.Seeds sometimes get confiscated to and from overseas. Plants here to there and there to here can be considered invasive and are destroyed. Check your customs sheets before sending either direction.

The 14ish quarts of pureed tomatoes from earlier this week I simmered down to about 6qts. I freeze dried that and powdered it down to 2qts![]()
Good luck with your carrots! I hope you get great results. I can't count how many garlic cloves I've planted .. not a single one has grownI started my carrot experiment today - planting some seeds in pots and putting them under the grow light to see if it was lack of sunlight that lead to this year’s disappointing results or some other factor. I put in more of the same variety I grew over the summer in one pot and a rainbow mix from a different packet in another. They’re both old, but that should at least help me rule out the variety. I went square foot gardening with the placement (carefully placing each seed at the desired spacing rather than scattering them with the intent to thin later) - this is different from what I did outside, but with the expected growing period consisting of three months with major holidays, I don’t think I’ll have the time to manage that when/if it comes up. They’re also inside, where they’ll be easier to monitor for bugs, so that’s different too.Grow light is set to be on for 6 hours, plus whatever sun makes it in the window.
And since I had to get the soil, pots etc. out anyway, I planted some of my scorzonera (gotta see if the seeds are good after all!), replanted the thyme and planted some more sage seeds. Also planted some garlic cloves in a pot, we’ll see if that does better than the outdoor bulbs.
