What did you do in the garden today?

I will be digging some carrots today and digging up the gladiolas bulbs. 34F here with a good frost ends the growing season.

Wow, we've dipped into the upper 40s here...not quite ready for frost & 30s Temps. I guess they're coming, ready or not.

Just heard the forecast...so Wednesday we dip into 30s. I will be turning the heat on & saying goodbye to our wonderful garden. I'm bringing the last productive pepper plant & 2 awesome tomato plants indoors...give it a shot with grow lights.

Went to the garden and picked green beans and a squash. Maybe a handful of cherry tomatoes. I had to stop picking the beans because of the big black spider. I left the garden because of the snake around my squash plants.

I'll be putting a frost sheet over the bean plants and the habanero pepper. I want the beans on the plant to ripen; I'm saving those for next year's seed.

The habanero is my only hope for any hot peppers from out garden this year. All FOUR peppers on it.

I picked the biggest leathery pods from my rattlesnake bean vines today to get them out of the coming rain. I'll let them finish drying inside. That'll be plenty of seeds for next year's crop.

And a bonus! There was a nice mess of young beans still on the vine, enough to go along with 3 or 4 meals. There will be some dry beans to harvest later this fall too.

I have been feeling good and getting a lot done. DW has been in a good mood for the past week or so. Love it. I had some bugs biting. Could not see um.

Those are some colorful beans! Nice. What variety are those on the right side? Looks like you save meat trays too. LOL. They come in handy.

Cranberry beans. I only save the heavier duty meat trays that aren't cracked, and run them through my dishwasher on no heat dry.

I did get the starts for horse radish planted them the toilet we replaced.

I'm confused, I keep getting yes & no answers on this - maybe someone here can help...

Can Cucurbita pepo (spaghetti squash) cross pollinate with Cucurbita moschata (tromboncino squash)? Can't figure out it I should save seeds or not!

Been away for a few days, going away again in a few more! Possible frost in a couple days, will need to pull lots of stuff in the next couple days.

Will try & catch up a bit tmrw.
