What did you do in the garden today?

Taking it a little easier today. I plan on finishing off the weed whacking in the front yard after an early shopping run for groceries and mulch. We had a little thunderstorm around 4 am this morning. Yay! No need to water today. There’s more asparagus to pick now. Have a great day.

We have those too, and they usually chew on my finishing potatoes, so I can't leave them to store underground.
The last time I planted potatoes I used grow bags. they did great and it was so much easier than digging them up.

Voles destroyed my little potato patch because I tried an experiment planting the potatoes last October to see what happened.

Only 2 or 3 came up out of 18 that I planted. I dug one of the potatoes up in February and about 3/4 of it had been eaten, so I'm sure the voles ate the rest of them. I need to plant something else in that bed I guess.

They love all roots

It's raining so hard this morning that the water is literally spraying from the downspouts... 🙄 I really hope the trench we dug by the corn patch prevents a complete washout....

My determinate potato tubers that I grew in grow bags were all near the top. It's like the bottom half was wasted, so on my next grow I will use less potting mix.
