What did you do in the garden today?

SEE?! Ppl thought I was nuts. The price is crazy here. It's a dent corn state, not sweet corn. Oh, the corn we crew in Florida and Alabama. SO SO sweet and good.
Got the willow tree in the ground.
I cannot believe how hot it was today. Like an ant under a magnifying glass hot.
At least tomorrow it will be breezy.
Finished planting my corn and okra..don't be impressed! I have a small garden but organic fresh sweet corn is outrageously priced here which is ironic since I live in the Huskers state! My garden is all planted now and I'm happy with it! Not a big one but I can manage it -so I'm happy with that. I'll post pics when more seeds have sprouted!
!

87 degrees at the moment and dry as a bone.
I've got a willow to plant.
The orioles are having a field day in the garden at the feeder, but no hummingbirds, so far.
I have to move the wood pile for the siding guys, so I built a wood rack - just one of those cinder block 2x4 things.
I need to get the irrigation system going for the pasture, or I'll loose it.
The beans and corn needed planted.
I just cannot get over how gross it is out - it's too early.
Canning stuff ready. Freeze Dryer is running with ground chicken, spaghetti sauce, and Velveeta cheese.

If you have trouble with little rain, willow is not really a tree you want to plant, they need water, lots of it 😬

First time my bluebell tree is in full bloom ( before, it was too young, last year a late frost killed off all the flowers of all trees , except the pear tree) so beautiful, and it smells amazing too 😍

Finally bought some edible marigolds, (they also smell great and planted them in my raised bed along) with basil to keep the insects away from my tomatoes
Will post the picture later, somehow the phone isn’t syncing with the tablet 🤷🏻‍♀️
Planted some of my dahlia’s, already didn’t have enough space for them, then the neighbor offered me some, I couldn’t resist cos they are a different color than my own ( just red) 🙈 had to go and buy more pots and topsoil , paid cash, so hubby can’t complain about how much the garden costs 🫣

TeeHee! Sounds like my Mom's recipes. How much measurement do you use Mom? "Till it looks right" she'd answer. She never had measuring cups or spoons ~ just the cupboard cups & silverware drawer!
