What did you do in the garden today?

We got frost last night. I'll see what's left of the cherries in a couple hours. The trees are too tall for us to cover like we did last year.

Yes frost here too past couple mornings.

Should be ok, cherries are fairly hardy. Peaches not so much!

Finished planting snap peas, pole beans, tomatoes, broccoli, Brussel sprouts, and lettuce. The chooks helped

I just glanced at the garden a couple times. Too busy integrating the chicks with the old hens today. And trying to restore a crapped out travel trailer axle spindle. No luck. Needs new spindle or new axle.

Hens are treating the chicks ok for the most part, but asserting their place in the pecking order a little at the feed bowls, chasing the chicks away.

I started digging up some weeds at the border of my heavy soil garden. I knew there were some grubs, so I had a bucket handy. I must have gotten about 60-70 grubs!

Can you say, "Chickie snack?"

It makes for slow, but thorough, weeding. And happy chickens.

I trap on trail. Figure out their common path, put the trap there. I use rabbit bags and a snare closure, not a live shut trap. (The bag is a live trap though, closes via snare) Best bait for a bunny is greens, but am guessing he has plenty of those in the garden to, so you have competition. TBH, in the garden, I use the .22

There really is no trail, they roam the entire yard. Caught quite a few over the years but these two buddies are being obstinate.

If you have trouble with little rain, willow is not really a tree you want to plant, they need water, lots of it

there are willow trees around here and we definitely are short of water. I guess willow roots are capable of finding underground water.

is there any veggie that does not like a lot of manure? I want to plant something between olive trees and olives don't like manure.

Finally got ( one) of my raised beds done I must admit, i bought the tomato with tomatoes hanging on it

Yesterday: Don't we have flower bed ties out back? AUH OH! Built a 4x8x7 bed for somebody who wants a Strawberry bed. I don't even pencil in my plans for erasing, just leave the Calander blank with not even a date. I guess my 150,000 girlfriends (BEES) will have to wait. Mom's Day Priorities! ATTA BOY!
