OH MY LORD, I am sorry,, I know that REALLY hurts

It sure does! I think I'm going to lose the nail on one of the fingers. Hit it so hard it split the skin in 3 places. Such a stupid accident. I think I'm going to hold the staples with needle nose pliers or something instead of my fingers in the future. It will take longer but better than accidents like this!

Good golly, the sun came out yesterday and the temperature finally jumped out of the 50’s into the high 60’s. Cleaned up the patio for the traditional cookout. Today I finally got straw around the potato plants, then harvested more asparagus. Tomorrow is planting as much as possible in the big garden. Fingers crossed.

Warm, wonderfully sunny weekend that's 3 weeks past the frost date in our area. I finally got the entire garden planted over Memorial Day weekend, right before 36 hours of gentle rain. Yay, perfect scenario right?

Not quite. Now the temps have dipped down into the high 40s to low 50s F which is pretty chilly for us this time of year. Hang on, tomato and pepper plants! And hopefully all the seeds will germinate. I'm headed down to pick strawberries. On the positive side, maybe the cooler weather is keeping the slugs under ground!

I saw an article from Epoch times that reported by the bee pollinator people that send bees to farms, last year they had the greatest loss in bees ever.

I saw similar articles... Over 50% loss of hives last year. That's horrifying.

100% rain all day today!
Can’t do gardening. My dh did get the gate fixed to garden in between showers yesterday!
I cut my soap and letting it dry! It smells so strong. I have a problem w my scents disappearing in my soaps so this time I made sure it was 100 degrees b4 I added oils. I used a thermometer and all

Do you make yours completely from scratch? I've wanted to learn but just haven't done it yet. I have purchased some pre-made bases from Hobby Lobby and then added my own oils, fragrance, etc... I have all the ingredients to do it from scratch, but I've just never gotten up the courage to try it.

I'll plant summer squash, winter squash and cucumbers in the bare bed in the background of this pic. Cukes and winter squash will have trellises to climb. I might try training the summer squash up poles.

YES!!!! We do it that way when we need to hammer fence staples.
keep a close eye on it for infection- it can happen fast

After about 15 hours of cooking, the fruit leather FINALLY finished. I tasted some today. It's meh... 🫩 A bit bitter actually... I used Allulose/Monkfruit extract instead of sugar which was clearly a mistake.

Oh well, lesson learned.

The cucumbers and existing melon sprout are continuing to go down hill so I scarified some replacements and put them in with some damp paper towel. Hopefully they’ll sprout and we’ll be done with cold weather by the time they do!
