Some old photos of my Ameraucanas per request

Nothing going on. Rain, rain and more rain is really getting plants growing and greening up. All I've been doing is giving it a glance as I walk the pup.

I had the perfect spot available to plant a few Blue Lake pole bean seeds. It's on one side on my patch of shallots and onions, where I had indeterminate tomatoes planted last year.

I've read many times that beans and peas "don't get along" with onions, leeks, and garlic.

We got a scant 1/8" of rain last night. Not nearly enough. Chance of more in the late afternoon today.

I've read the same thing. And I've also read that they are good companion plants because the alliums repels tomato bean pests. So... who to believe??? LOL.

I'll report back on how it pans out this fall.

It's 4:45am and almost light enough out to pick the bolting collards. Time to get to work.

Just got a deal on canning jars, Walmart. Bought 6 doz.

With our poor to atrocious deliveries out here, I wouldn't consider getting canning jars shipped to me.

Collards are all picked and lightly cooked. I'll probably put most of them in the freezer. All the leaf lettuce is picked too, but the heat is making it taste a little bitter so from now on the lettuce will be for the chickens.

I had jars delivered from Amazon once and a few of the rings and lids were dented and unusable but the jars were fine. Amazon refunded the cost of one dozen and let me keep them.

Put compost tea out this morning.
I have an Aztec tobacco plant that I'm clueless about. I was told if I couldn't grow it I should give up growing things it's so unhappy and twisted looking. It's getting bigger though
