Oh, here they calculate it pretty much the same, and the price is per built square meter. The most I oayed was in Jerusalem, around 200€ a month. For a 60sqm apartment with 20 meters garden and a 10 meters balconyThe sick thing is the same part of government that collects the $ assigns the VALUE of your home/property that the tax is based on. They're supposed to base that on what a house sells for that is comparable to what your place is to others within a mile of your place. Makes sense if you are in a city. In the boonies there are only a couple places within a mile of your place. AND NO house compares to another out here. Covid market rush screwed up pricing as people paid above value. And every since then it's been screwed up. Last evaluation they comp'd all of us against a guy building a NEW home. UM NOT FAIR.
We can contest the amount, but last time I did, the woman said you can contest it, we'll send a person out to to redo your evaluation, but your evaluation could go UP. I took that as a threat and dropped it.
This is why ppl are NOT retiring here. They live in Missouri or Iowa or Kansas and commute here to work until they find work elsewhere.
Wait a minute. You’re assessment will increase because you made REPAIRS to your house? How does that square, you mean to say that because the repairs incurred higher costs compared to the original material and labor costs that that is considered an upgrade?AND since we had that hail storm, my assessment is about to go UP again this year, cause all new siding, deck, roof.....UGH PLUS insurance about to go up. All because of NOT MY FAULT!!
200€ a month? Isn’t that roughly about $270.00. And the apartment was what, about 200 sq.ft. Was the 200€ just taxes?Oh, here they calculate it pretty much the same, and the price is per built square meter. The most I oayed was in Jerusalem, around 200€ a month. They're soft. I add them to the last 10 minutes of simmering when they're canned. Freeze dried, I blanch first, and I treat them as fresh when using. How’s the texture? You say you use them for soup, how do you think they’d do in other uses?
NEWER is considered an upgrade, as it increases the sale value of your home. Think about it, if you were buying a 20 year old house with a 6 year old roof, and 18 year old siding and deck, you'd pay LESS for the house than if it was a 20 year old house with new siding, new deck, and new roof. So yep, increase the value, increase the taxes. And they find out about it when the permits for the repair work are filed.Wait a minute. Still, actual intentional upgrades would increase the market value bit the assessed value was always based mostly on square footage. Repairs were maintaining a statue quo as it were.NEWER is considered an upgrade, as it increases the sale value of your home. That is INSANE CRAZY. Total highway robbery.... And I'm super salty that my property taxes doubled from $1300/yr to $2500/yr. If I was being told to pay $850/month....living in the countryside in (what I guessing) is a normal sized residence (aka not a Hollywood mansion), I'd friggin' be going Boston Tea Party on someone....Ours are. almost 850$ a month and always increasing
