Not necessarily... I have a BO that's 7 yrs old. I know many others on here have some even older. I just feel the heavy breeds are more prone to things like fatty liver, ascites, and reproductive disorders. Totally based upon my own observations. Real stats may differ...

I dug trenches next to the bean rows and filled them with water several times and gave them a really deep watering. I'll spread the Sluggo granules along the bean rows later today.

DH put a ground squirrel trap in the garden near the chick's grow-out pen and checked it. Dead squirrel AND a dead RAT ....a normal RAT not a prairie/ground squirrel rat! OMG WTH did THAT come from?????
We aren't near trash or other people really. WHERE? OMG! a R>A>T>!

I have eggplant coming out my ear, so I started looking for ideas and I like this 5,4,3,2,1, recipe. It's similar to the steam eggplant video I posted earlier, but this one is using pork belly and it's easy to remember.

I’m guessing it came from a mother rat after a torrid night of rat love a little while back. Squirrel, or rat, anyway you look at it a rodent

Pop up storm brought a whole 15 seconds of light sprinkles but the accompanying wind dropped the temperature to 86 (91 heat index). Who'd have guessed that 90 would feel heavenly???

Have you considered making an eggplant dip, like baba ganoush?
