What did you do in the garden today?

Oh, and my tomatoes and cantaloupe are sooooo far behind on growing. I usually have fruit from both by now. I have a few tomatoes that are just starting to turn pinkish. No actual cantaloupe to speak of, but plenty of flowers... What a weird season this is turning out to be...
Well, my tomatoes are all still green, so you’re fine.

Picked a few more melon cucumbers and fertilized the vegetables.

I tried sprouting okra seeds from Hoss Tools in a seed tray with a humidity cover, but nothing came up and I gave up. I saw this video and decided to try again with the same packet of seeds. The only thing I did different was, I used a microwave to heat up the water and filled and emptied the water about 4 times after a minute. I let it sit in the warm water for around 5 hours and placed them in a tray with wet paper towel and covered the tray like the video. I checked the seeds the next day and all the seeds sprouted. A small step for mankind.

Wellllllllll..... I probably should have paid closer attention to the HUMIDITY levels. I did get the weeding done but the humidity was so freaking high that it was like working in a sauna. My clothes were so wet from sweat that they were dripping! And I was covered in dirt and had bugs dive bombing me...
But it’s these small joys in life that make it all worthwhile.:D

Did morning chores and took a short stroll in garden. Everything seems to be ok w all the rain we are having- daily showers and storms.
I have to cut the ends of cucumbers and rub the ends to remove the bitterness- the ones I just want to eat instead of pickling.
Saw a bee either napping or soaked in rain.
My marigolds I planted have not come up. None. Been 2 weeks. Three packages I planted 🤔
