Deer can jump over an 8 foot fence so I’m not sure if an electric fence would work

I have 4 foot 2x3 welded wire fence encircling my cherry tree. The fence is about 3 feet from the farthest out branches. The deer know they can't jump in, and neither can they reach over to browse the branches.

The birds, however... got every last cherry before it ripened.

A GOOD Bloody Mary is my favorite drink. DH makes an awesome one... Not too spicy but not bland. I believe his secret ingredient is pickle juice.
