What did you do in the garden today?

The purpose of the buckwheat is to keep the weeds at bay. It sprouts quickly, has decent sized leaves right away, and thus shades out the weeds. If it flowers, that would be great for the honeybees.

It doesn't fix nitrogen, and doesn't tolerate frost at all, so I don't have to worry about it being a nuisance next spring. I'll leave the dead plants on the beds and cover them with compost.

I’m mending quite well. About 98%. I got the summer squash, Brussel sprouts and cucumbers all planted. The temperatures cooled down for a few days but the down side is so did the humidity. Keeping the seeds moisturized for germination has been challenging. Fingers crossed the forecasted rain on Friday materializes. The berries on the hill are ripening but they seem to be a slightly different shape and more red than black. More raspberry than black raspberry? Hopefully they are juicy and tasty. My pole beans are climbing above the 6 foot poles. I thought they would follow the horizontal poles but not yet. I’ll take a picture when I get to them this morning. Apparently these are a long bean variety.

I did very little bc either Im getting a cold or allergies acting up.
Could my sinuses miss the daily rain? 😑
I sprayed tomatoes again and was trying to take a pic of the lil black worms to identify correctly but I squashed it. :/
The neem oil does seem to be keeping numbers down but if it is army worms, I could walk out one morning to nothing left. If that’s the case, I will release the chickens (evil laugh).
