I googled mafia plant…I got nothing, except a restaurant called the mafia lol. And I’m not judging..I’m just saying I’d be a bit apprehensive eating there.
I started using a plain mosquito repellent I make and it has really worked for me. Vanilla essential oil (the cheapest you can find) and water.. I just use a super small spray bottle..add some essential oil and fill rest with water shake and spray. They were awful and now have gotten bitten only once and it was in my forehead where I didn't spray!I’m only laughing because it’s true. My legs are eat up. Last year I got into poison ivy and itched/scratched like a crazy person. This year mosquitoes! I’ve tried everything. Bug spray, a bucket of water with “poisoned”mosquito food, I’m pretty sure they just use that to breed. It’s been over 100 degrees here, there’s no standing water or anything. These evil creatures just appear!
That stinks and I hate it when it happens!part of my tomato plant that I was most excited got so heavy with unripe fruit that it snapped so I am having to find a way to prop it up and hope that it keeps growing
Guinea LOVE ticks.Apparently so! I only have chickens, but I wonder if guinea fowl would help..
Thanks!! I’ll try it, I have plenty of essential oil.I started using a plain mosquito repellent I make and it has really worked for me. Vanilla essential oil (the cheapest you can find) and water.. I don’t know what haying season is, but from May to October I wear nothing but shorts and no show socks or barefoot. They definitely hitchhike a ride into my house on the husband. They’re horrible disease carrying terrors. And I recently found out they’re ARACHNIDS AHHHH!!!! Spiders! Blood sucking spiders!!!Guinea LOVE ticks.
But they wander EVERY where, sometimes refuse to roost where you want them too, sometimes never come home, love standing in the middle of busy roads, and taste great to coyotes.
That said, I just found a tick crawling across the bathroom floor..shudder. I do not like them. Must have fallen off DHs socks/ jeans. I go bare legged, and no show socks in haying season. I can feel the beasts crawling on me and off they come. SO nasty.
Awwww I love the little first eggs. My little pullet laid her first today. She’s about 18 weeks. Her mother is a white bantam Cochin, and daddy is a HUGE Wyandotte. Her egg was small and cream colored, just like her mother’s. I would’ve thought it was Morticias (her mother) but she’s broody-AGAIN.It's too hot here to even consider the garden. BUT- I went to move the chickens to a run we use when it's extremely hot and one of my pullets left me a tiny little blue egg in the nest box! Yesterday, there was a little green one in there. They are just shy of 17 weeks.
