What did you do in the garden today?

Found the first toad of the day (excluding the one I found at 2am) while mixing compost. Talk about a round little dude

Hay is in. I'm beat.
The field needed a second turning due to the high humidity. So I lost 3 hours of my day there.
I sent DH off for more diesel due to the extra 3 hours in the seat.

Both the tractor and the baler acted up in their worst way- the tractor would vapor lock if I tried to turn it on after running it for too long, which caused delays, and the baler (the piece of crap), couldn't handle the taller windows from thicker areas of hay, kept jamming, and then with about 10 bales of raked hay left in the field, at dark, blew the main belt-lightning on the horizon. So we lost 10 bales to rain.

And the hay is in the barn, not the curing shed yet. Now that the temperature has dropped we'll move it to the shed. As soon as I catch up with 4 days of neglected EVERYTHING.

At least the rain held off until after dark.

I am bug bit, overly sun exposed, coughing, itchy, and all the other lesser known dwarves.
The house is picked up, but I still need to catch up with the outside chores and change the belt for next year and clean the equipment. grumble.

Yes! And I was able to share w my family too 😂 there are still some on vines bc not filled out
You need to stop bragging, very unbecoming.:D I have tried limas a few times and every time I get the plant and no beans, and I have low nitrogen soil and don’t add any back for beans. But my peas and green beans do very well:confused::confused:

I'm mostly getting Tomato Hornworms.

I'm about ready to nuc them. What has worked for you all?

Like if they'd just eat one tomato they could live but they have to ruin every single one on each plant then top it before I'm ready. These jerks must die! I have never had them so bad, my old place had the wasps that killed them. I miss those wasps!

I hate using the "hard" stuff but they are killing off my whole crop. I pick at least 7 a day, none are small. Jerks!

You should do some investigating because somewhere somebody is selling steroids to your horn worms.

Note to self - plant more than 3 okra plants
😑
I was giving bags of okra away this time last year and the people are expecting the same amount- where’s the okra, they say!
Planted Okra last year, two plants, and realized that in order to get meaningful harvests at any given time you need to plant a bunch of them…..or am I wrong?
