What did you do in the garden today?

I got some sage to dry. For the plant only being 4-5 months old I am very happy with how much I’ve been getting from it. View attachment 4191352

My only sage plant is still in a pot on the porch and it's not doing much. I really need to find a spot outside and put it in the ground.

Mine is in a big pot with oregano and thyme. The thyme isn’t doing amazing but the sage and oregano are doing pretty good. After the sage is done drying I will cut a bunch of the oregano back

Do you put the pineapple plant in a bag with the apple slices to capture the ethylene gas released as the apple brake down? Realizing it would be a large trash size bag for a 3 year old pineapple.

Not a trash bag, but I did put all of the plants inside an enclosed 6' x 4' plastic greenhouse during April & May until it got too hot (90+ degrees) outside. I put bunches of ripe bananas in there with them. Still didn't trigger them to flower. I finally needed to move them to a location where they'd get some afternoon shade because the heat has been so intense and pineapple plants are divas...

Yeah… I wish companies would just be honest

A lot of the vendors on Walmart and Amazon are Chinese companies... Their honesty around their products is about as low as their quality.

That doesn't damage the seeds at all?

I thought it would but apparently it can actually improve germination. But I'm still skeptical as well... I'm testing it. I'll be the guinea pig!

You could dry some as well! Oven or dehydrator works very well.

I didn't make it to the garden today. Busy schedule with the granddaughter. Got home and fed and watered all the animals, collected the eggs and now I am relaxing with Prince BudLight. I posted the near heart attack after I got home on how many eggs did you get today.

Watered today and picked more tomatoes.

Had to bury my favorite chicken this evening.

Got the diced tomatoes out of the freeze dryer this morning. I also wrote on my seed garlic so we won't accidently eat them like last season. I don't know why I didn't think of this before. Wrote the variety on one side and the word "No" on the other.

Now I can keep them in the same box and know what kind of garlic is in the box!
