What did you do in the garden today?

I can’t wait till it blooms! I have tried to plant cat nip but the outsiders kill it by laying on top of it or maybe passing out
I even tried just seeds and they dug them up

To be fair, there's like 13-24 different varieties of mint....

I planted some shelling peas. It’s a semi dwarf variety so the only trellis I need is a tomato cage. Nice to finally have a use for one

I pulled up a couple more cucumber seedlings to thin more, did a little more pruning on the big cuke vines. I finally bit the bullet and ordered some cheesecloth which I'll need for straining out the cooked green apple juice for my homemade pectin project.

I'm still in awe of the Black Seeded Simpson leaf lettuce I'm growing. I've only watered it lightly a few times since the seeds sprouted and it grows like it has plenty of water in the dry soil. I never though any type of lettuce would grow well in dry conditions.

Just piddled in garden. Wondering why I haven’t grown a beefsteak tomato yet. I fed them the other day in case lacking in calcium etc.
I picked weeds around yard for older chickens. My phone says this is lemon balm. It smells nothing like lemon. I thought it might be in mint family. What do you think?

It looks like mine. I use it a lot in the coop to deter mites etc .. it keeps things nice and fresh.

Squash was looking kind of wilty today. Not sure why. Didn’t see any frass (to be fair I may not be looking correctly as I don’t usually grow squash), weather hasn’t been any weirder than it has been all year, soil seems nicely damp.
