What did you do in the garden today?

We got probably an inch of rain today. It came in 3 installments. The first was a nice, gentle 1/4". The second was a pounding 1/4" and the third was a hard 1/2." I'm sure it knocked some things over/down, but they'll come back. Probably. Hubby will need to do some road repair on the driveway. Lots of gravel went down the hill.
I'm jelly.... It was supposed to rain here. Apparently someone forgot to tell Mother Nature. 🙄 I had to spend at least 30 minutes giving everything in the garden a healthy drink....

That's a puzzle to me. Looks like someone threw cornmeal on it with the plant was wet. But my guess is some kind of fungus. Only one plant?
Yep just that plant and one leaf of another tomato
Is there any wood above this plant? Could it be a bug boring and kicking out sawdust? It has happened to me...
i think that might be what it is. We have issues with carpenter bees digging into our deck and this is right the deck

I started another 36 cell seed tray. I planted the old watermelon cucumber, beans, and spinach to see if anything will germinate. If anything does those seed packets go in the fridge until next year. I only planted 3 of each of those so I also did round zucchini, bushmaster 80 cucumber, green arrow peas, beets, chives, black oil sunflowers, and a tomato hybrid that supposedly only takes 49 days to mature but we shall see. Every one of those was only 3 cells except the chives which got 6. This is the last chance I’m giving to chives before I give up on them

Picked a bunch of tomatoes, made a special trip and took some up to DHs Grandpa. He loves the produce we grow and I'm glad to share. He even called me last week to tell me that they're the best tomatoes he's ever had. 💚

Got 3 hours of sleep. Got up at 3 am for no reason. Smoke from the Gifford fire is getting really bad. Especially in the evening.

Filled two trays for the freeze dryer full of diced tomatoes. I have a 5 gallon bucket almost full of tomatillos to cut up.

School starts tomorrow, so I need to catch up on sleep to make sure I have DS out the door on time.

I hope you will give the chives another chance to produce. Maybe try using another garden soil or a different bed. I haven't had success from sooo many plants however I will continue to try to get them to produce. I had all but given up on strawberry plants but last year I was successful in getting strawberries. I'm praying and hoping that you will be successful with your chives.

It's so wonderful when we can share our fresh grown vegetables with people that appreciate them. I gave my oldest grandson a cherry tomato and his reaction was completely priceless.

Thank you!!! I am really really hoping this time is successfully. This is the 4th time I’m trying this year. The first time they germinated but then I was forced on a 7 day vacation and they dried out (the only plants that didn’t make it even with someone looking after everything), the second time the chickens scratched around in the dirt and fling every seed out or bury it too deep resulting in 0 germination and The 3rd time the dogs knocked them off the deck a few days after planting them and all the seeds were lost in the rocks. It feels like the world doesn’t want me to have chives but I want me to have them so if this fails i will probably give up on the seeds but I can probably find some plants for sale at Home Depot or TSC or something
