What did you do in the garden today?

Before killing it dead could you try replanting it somewhere else? Didn't you say you've tried growing it in all 4 corners of your place? Maybe prepare the planting spot...
Same Crimson Red rhubarb(two different plants)was planted in two different spots both meeting the requirements for growth. Both times the plants took off and flourished and then began to tank, the first one died this current one isn’t dead but is knocked way way back. Now our new Victoria also took off and flourished and also suffered set backs but appears to be maintaining and rebounding. Watched nearly every video and read everything I could find on the matter and not seeing what the issue could be. Both suffered some insect damage from some unknown bug but seemed to recover somewhat from that.

My butternut squash is going crazy growing in the chicken run compost pile. Some vines have grown over the edge, 4 feet down to the ground. And there are little squash forming. The volunteer tomato plants growing on the side are a surprise bonus. I have no idea what kind they are.

I moved my brassica seedlings into larger pots.

I'll never try training zucchinis up a pole again. They were starting to make lots of squash right before I tied them up a couple weeks ago, and that must have shocked them. Today I noticed the first squash forming in two weeks. I'll let them continue growing on the ground for the rest of the season.

Habanero peppers have finally started setting on.

I figured you did but decided to ask just in case. I tried growing a couple rhubarb roots a few years back and they didn't work for me either. I think the issue was root rot for mine. I just gave up and didn't try planting any more.

Looks like you and I use the same plastic cups.

Another day in the 90s here and it's affected my well. I was watering my garden and the pump shut off because the water level dropped below the pump.

I think I need to have my well casing cleaned up because it seems to refill slowly if it's ran down. Does anyone have experience at getting a slow filling well fixed?
About 33 years ago I lived on a 10 acre property. Our well did that and we had to re drill it to go deeper. Not fun and not cheap. :idunno

We got probably an inch of rain today. It came in 3 installments. The first was a nice, gentle 1/4". The second was a pounding 1/4" and the third was a hard 1/2." I'm sure it knocked some things over/down, but they'll come back. Probably. Hubby will need to do some road repair on the driveway. Lots of gravel went down the hill.
I am so jealous. I don’t remember the last time it rained here.
