What did you do in the garden today?

My pole green beans are finally waning. I picked another 3/4 pound this morning. Adding that to the 3/4 pound I picked yesterday to donate to the food pantry tomorrow along with another 3 dozen eggs. I’ve been watering everything in cycles this past heat wave. Today is day four over 90F. I finally got the newest weed whacker put together and did some cleaning up in the big garden so it actually looks more like a garden. My summer squash plants are doing really well. I need to put some more straw down around them. The black turtle beans are starting to dry and my poor, struggling tomato plants in the big garden are showing a little promise of ripening. I can’t find the picture I took, oh well, I can take another picture tomorrow. Cooler, more seasonable temperatures are in the forecast for next week. Hopefully I can get the kale and carrots to produce nicely.

I squished a lot of Squash bugs like I do every day
Picked some tomatoes
Watered everything in pots

I turn duct tape inside out in a loop over my hand and they stick right to it. The eggs also. Then just drop in trash..

I need to weed a lot now. The rain will have made pulling them easy. I didn't do anything in the garden today, other than to notice that one bed of buckwheat got knocked over by the rain.

Picked a couple Trail of Tears bean pods that had finally dried out today. My melon plants are sprawling everywhere; I’m tempted to trim them back but with the late start they got I don’t want to set them back so for now I’m just moving the stray vines up against the trellis and hoping they get the hint.

I looked it up and I think it's a spaghetti squash but the pumpkin smell could be because they're growing so close to the pumpkins

I picked an eggplant and few okra.
I rescued a young hen that was w the adult chickens. As I was carrying her back she was “peep peep peep” complaining the whole way to be w younger ones.
I think my tomatoes are stressed due to heat because I have blossoms drop. :/ they are in partial shade it’s just so dang hot and humid! If I keep them alive, will they start producing this fall when it cools off?

Mine dropped all the blossoms with our last huge heatwave a month ago. They set new blossoms, so I'm hopeful. My plants have a 3 ft gap where there isn't any from where the blossoms dropped
