What did you do in the garden today?

So with the information I got from @TJAnonymous, I will be putting 3 roos and a drake in freezer camp tomorrow. The other cockerel that's with the one I posted a picture of tried to come at me at minimum 3 times. Today he came at me and I had a stick in hand and he did 1 1/2 backflips. He's still thinking that he's something special or large and in charge, NOT. After my husband and I started working on getting the new area set up for the girls, he has since changed his mind about that. I now have 12 chickens and 3 ducks running loose and I believe that my oldest girls decided to put them in check. They haven't tried messing with me or my girls. The younger girls they're still being a little bit of a pita but that's fine with me. To @Wee Farmer Sarah, Happy Birthday

Any rooster that charges goes in the stew pot. I have 6 roosters I keep for breeding. All docile. Well, I have 1 Welsummer roo who jumped at the back of my legs once, I think, while feeding. I went after him with a vengeance. He's never tried it again but I always keep an eye on him. I'm not 100% sure if he jumped at me or not and that's the ONLY reason he still lives... I also have 6 roos in my bachelor pen. They are also docile... But will be butchered later this fall.

Thanks again for the birthday wishes. One more year until I reach 75. Working on the food for our Labor Day party. Baby back ribs and barbecued shredded chicken sliders. And an opportunity to make my crockpot Boston baked beans. My peach tart turned out nicely.

It's over for us so we will pull remaining plants, lay in the composted coop cleanings and cut everything in for over wintering.

Planted a bunch of green spider plants at the rental, to make the garden look nicer that the bare dirt, the darn dog dug.
Came home and weeded a bunch into the bin for collection.
Planted some more geranium cuttings - just an ordinary red - but it grows well.

Today may be the day that some of the harvested sweet potatoes go into jars.

I shelled around half of the dry beans. I am definitely planting less Vermont Appaloosa next year. They are a pain to shell and they didn’t do well for me compared to a lot of others

It is been raining nonstop for two days. Which is fine, we need the rain, but trips to the garden are not on the schedule today!
