Picked the last of the Basil and made more pesto to freeze. I freeze it in silicone ice cube trays. Costco organic ramen noodles cooked and drained, pesto cube warmed up on hot noodles, Parm and two over easy eggs on the side. Yum. I've been freezing pesto all summer to get me through the winter! Haha. We got 1.5" of rain with a lot of lightening and thunder last night. Forecast is mid 80's for next 10 days. Perfect to get the last of the baby peppers growing. Loving how fall is starting.

Today I dug out more than half of the soil from one of my garden beds and spread it out on the patio so I can hit it with the weed torch to kill nematodes. Yup, that's the level of infestation I'm at.

I'll pile it up once it's done to make room for more from that bed. Once it's empty I'm scoring the inside of the bed, the hardware cloth bottom, and then using the soil drench, adding neem oil, and adding crab meal before I put the soil back in after two soil drenches.

I'll add new Earthworms, microbes, and compost. I will... Defeat the root knot nematodes... I will!

After this bed, only 5 to go.
I wonder if a hydrogen peroxide drench would work? I know it works on root maggots. My brother once told me that bleach will kill nematodes.

Picked what I think are the last of the green beans, picked dried bean pods to shell out, last of the cukes before retiring them, and lots of kale and collards for DH to take to work. I am out of freezer space and quart jars. Tomatoes are almost finished. Will box ripen, then make sauce later. We did get about a half inch of rain a couple days ago, will need to water the dahlias and potted plants in the morning.
