What did you do in the garden today?

The 18 eggs that were waiting for me to get home

The garden is winding down for the most part. My fall bush beans are going to start blooming in a few days and I hope they have time to make beans.

The tomatoes in the new garden plot are about shot. I'll pick all the green tomatoes for green salsa.

Peppers are looking better than the tomatoes but starting to yellow. I'll keep picking the big ones until frost is near, then pick them clean.

I'm going to attempt overwintering of a couple of these habanero plants.

Spring cukes are still producing a few, as are the fall cucumber vines.

Egyptian walking onions are about 4 inches tall.

There are still tomatoes ripening on the raised bed Roma vines. There might be another 20 pounds left.

If this giant 18" zucchini ripens I'll have seeds for next year.

Cabbage worm damage, need to BT them to death.

Butternut squash did pretty well growing directly in the 3 foot deep compost pile, all of it being rotted woodchips infused with chicken crap. No fertilizer required.

And finally, a vole got hungry in the carrot patch. It dug a furrow through about a foot long section of carrots leaving nothing but the tops. LOL. Not a problem since it was maybe just 10% of my carrot crop. But I should go ahead and pick them all before it decides to continue taking from the buffet.
