What did you do in the garden today?

They now sell lawn mowers that run on rechargeable Li-Ion Batteries.
Maybe I should clarify. I do not want a battery operated mower. 😂 Lithium or otherwise. It's way too hot here in the early summer when I mow the most. It's really hard on batteries and they're too expensive to punish like that. Thus, I have a tail I drag around and get covered in chicken poop

Is it illegal to buy a gas engine mower from out of state and haul it back across the line?

 Good for you! I planted 102 cloves this year.
I have about 60 out of 90 that have sprouted above ground, but this morning I noticed that something has been nipping the tops off some of the plants and eating them.

No deer tracks in the garden so I'm guessing squirrels, but I just don't know. What in the heck would eat garlic fronds??? They seem to be bitten neatly off.

Yeah, I'm like 30 pages behind again... 🙄 This thread moves so fast...

We got our first light frost this morning. It was only in the low areas. I didn't cover my tomatoes so I hope they are OK. I have about a dozen really nice ones that are huge but still green. I left them on the vine hoping they will ripen before it gets too cold. They just simply aren't far enough along to pick... Even to ripen indoors. Thankfully it's supposed to warm up a little for the next week or so. Maybe enough to finish them off. 🤞

Today also Hatch Day. Started 12 eggs in the incubator. Three were clear. Two were quitters. That left 7 eggs. Another two looked like they possibly died too but they are super dark brown so impossible to candle easily. I left them in the incubator. Well, they were the first two to pip... 🙄 So glad I didn't chuck them out. I have at least 3 pipped and I can hear chirping but still none hatched yet. Looks like everyone is running late! However, I purposely set the incubator temperature to 98.5 degrees (1 degree lower than the standard) so maybe that's playing a part... We'll see what I've got come morning.

I remember reading a number of years ago about residents of King County WA (Seattle area) driving over to Idaho to buy laundry detergent that actually cleaned their clothes. That ban was/is on the SALE of detergents containing certain ingredients, not its purchase or use. But this is California so 🤷‍♂️
