I came across this small online US company that sell stainless steel lids, silicone fermentation lids, grating lids, drinking lids etc. for small or wide mouth mason jars.

I bought some similar ones on Amazon last spring. I like them a lot... Really useful when I make syrups, coffee creamer, etc...

I'm pooped. Trying to get ready for the hard freeze tomorrow night. Supposed to be in the low 20s. Just for one night, of course... I've already moved most plants indoors. Went ahead and picked all the tomatoes, peppers, and green beans that were left. I'll try to cover the lettuce tomorrow night. Hopefully it keeps it alive...

Picked up our new horse today too. Her name is Dancer...

I discovered a chunk of fence that had been knocked down. Of course I can't get it back into the right position.

Yep, we had a small herd blow across the field and one slammed into the barbed wire, it snapped. I'll be out there later this week, stretching and mending.

I walked around the garden today. My mom just figured out what happened to my pumpkins. I didn't think about it because I have been so off lately but in any case my pumpkins cross pollinated with the gourds and they are hard as wood. The good news is that the big pumpkin didn't go through that. My mom and I are working on canning as much pumpkin as possible before she has to go home

My new neighbor on my right side of my house brought in 4 mature fighting roosters and the neighbor on the right of him complained about the crowing. He told me the cops gave him a warning and a follow up time to be rid of them. Eventually he built a two-story house in his back yard which completely blocks the neighbor that complained from my view, so my rooster crowing doesn't bother them and my neighbor on the right isn't bothered by chickens crowing.
