Oh yes the 2 that was there tried to take her treat and she's one of the biggest bullies in the flock so she won.

I once uncovered a nest of newborn mice in my chicken coop. The chickens grabbed them all and gobbled them up like they'd just discovered a treasure trove of bugs... It was horrifying and fascinating all at the same time.

I would not be sad about that because dems be eatin my eggs and no, that's not happenin.

We found nest of Baby rats in the old Banty coop a week ago asked the friend with to give them to the birds he was pleasantly surprised.

I've caught 34 mice in the chicken run over 4 nights. Taking a break tonight.

Been there, done that. I feel for you.

Hoping for a low mice summer - we had a really bad one last year - catching 5/20 a night in the drop trap in the avairies.

Today is going to be mid-upper 50s, so warmish. Light wind, so a good day to run the burn barrel! I'm going to cut the asparagus down and burn the stalks. I've heard that that helps get rid of asparagus beetles. Maybe, maybe not; I've read they overwinter underground. But I think I had fewer beetles this spring after I burned the stalks last fall. So I'm going to do it again.

I'm just waiting for it to warm up to about 40° before I go out. I'll wear a hat and warm coat. By the end of it, I'll be down to my sweatshirt, I'm sure.
