That sounds good to me!I baked a whole duck in a Dutch oven and feel guilty about eating the skin.

I use chicken wire and lay it in my beds over the winter. It seems to deter our neighborhood kitty. I love that kitty because he brings me lots of dead mice!Yeah, I've seen that. I'm not putting plastic in the garden though.
I use wire fence, I just have not gotten it untangled from the clover patch yet.![]()
I may do that for my pots. It's getting harder to not shoot the cat. I keep telling myself that it's a predator for the rats and mice.... But it's getting harder. If I catch it in a trap, I'm taking it to the shelter. The owner can go get it. The cat also poops on top of the chicken run hardware cloth. Why? Just.... Why?There's always the option of going to the local Goodwill store or searching yard sales and findng you a deal on cheap pressed metal ones.![]()
One of my Isa brown male chicks bit the back part of my leg as they were following me to the coop and got away with it. I may have hit the wrong guy.
Camping? I'm jealous. Have a great trip!I got into my compost heap in the orchard. It's good stuff! I also rotated my spinning bin. One side is almost done, the other will need about 6 months since I put it in a few weeks ago.
Planted more peas, pulled weeds, getting things ready to mulch the garlic beds, and started up the freeze dryer. Drying my refried beans, some soups, basil, and garlic.
We also started brining the turkey. Made a big batch of breakfast burritos that are now freezing for camping this weekend, and cut up veggies for making frozen regular burritos.
