Tomorrow my husband and our son in law are going to look for jobs so I am going to get started on decorating for Christmas. Hopefully I can get enough done and then when they get back I can get them to help me finish it.

We could have 9° some night next week. I hope it kills off the bugs too! I can't ever recall having single digits this early in the season. It isn't even winter by the calendar yet!

We have one attached to our French drain that runs up hill, and across the hill above the coop and barn

My mom told me to dig a dry well. I had no idea what she was talking about so I asked and if you dig a hole about 4 ft deep and fill it with gravel and then cover it with dirt it helps with flooding. I haven't done it yet but I plan on getting it done hopefully next spring.

my coops are about 100 ft long. I dug a canal about 1 ft wide along the coops. previous storm brought some dirt and stones so I need to fix it.

Might wanna look into a French drain.

I fixed the canal. as soon as I finished storm began. there was a river running down the hill. my ducks enjoyed it. but my chickens didn't. they went inside the coop almost 2 hours earlier and without dinner. I had to bring them feed and water inside. did I tell you I was soaking wet?
