What did you do with your flock today?

Thanks ♡ I really like them too. Just the way the bags are layed out makes it easy for them to look fun and good. Probably sell a ton if I can source them, I def need to search out sources here. Seems weird I have not found any yet... Guess I need to try harder 😖
Maybe you need to add that to your stand info! Empty Feed Bag donations accepted? You do such a great job ❤️❤️

today i came out side to my chickens at around 10:am They have an automatic door which means they can go freerange the moutain sides i call home and then my heart skipped a beat. As i got closer my Breeding Colombian Sussex, Herry was covered and i mean covered head to toe in blood. I imedeatly though wait are all the hens here. They were all her no blood so sickly hens. Just a very bloody rooster. Then out the corner of my eyes hiding in the feed room was Darcy my second rooster i was planing on starting a separate breeding project with. He was standing behind the feed bin and imediatly ran up to me when he saw Herry walk back up into the woods with the hens. I raised darcy along side his mom our french cuckoo maran who went broody last spring. He will let me hug him so when he ran up to me in got on my knees to give him a hug. But then i saw he had about half his hackle feathers on his neck missing and he was covered in blood. from chest to his comb. I quickly stoped this hug and ran inside to get my mom we cleaned him up after he gave me a hug and i picked him up. we put some blue healing paste on all the injuries on his fave and come and put back in his reinforced pen. We also despurred herry so he wouldn't hurt the hens. However if we haden't Darcy most likley would have been killed by Herry. Also, yes Herry is the giant rooster in my profile picture.

@Gammas Bearded Babies the blue and white waterers are both fabulous and crappy! The ones that work work well, but I’ve had a few crack due to cold, heat, or just plain leak cuz they weren’t made well! Waterers are my biggest chicken complaint of all the care they need. They’re overly pricey, generally cheaply made, don’t have a design that minimizes chicken poop and dirt getting in and algae build up happening constantly. 🤪

Oh! And the non-feather legged chicken in with the d’Uccles is a sun bleached lavender Hedemora. She’s such a good hardy bird. I love her ❤️

Ohh I love the kitty bags!! Well done!! 😍
I LUV it too @TropicalBabies !!!

Well dang it...Lizzie was all poofed up and straining something awful...laid extremely thin shell egg at my feet...finger went right through it when I picked it up.
I got the nice oyster shells thinking that would help but nope.

Haha, yeah! My last batch was almost a year ago. I miss fuzzy babies. <3

Everyone’s been pretty good here, not a lot going on.
What about you, how are you and your birds?
That would be like 7 in dog years!

How is Molly doing? Did you ever discover the mystery swelling cause? Her ears clear up ok? And the pigeons ♡♡♡?!!

All good over here. A bit of the same ol same ol thing. Flock is good so that is the main thing. Oh, got adopted by another cat 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

@Shetland lover I hope your dh is taking the rats FAR AWAY. You have such a heart to rehome them ♡ and now you have a pet 🐀 your so funny. Well, I look forward to hearing about your new friends adventure. Hope you get some photos in too. I guess why not right? 😂
🤣 it's not quite a pet yet but it is coming out to be fed morio worms and peanuts a couple of times a day. Daren't tell DH, he'll flip if he finds out I'm actively giving it food.
He's taking them about 5 mins away (by car) to our allotment for release, so far none have returned that I've seen (been putting blue food dye on the ends of their tails to monitor them) so they don't seem to be homing rats 🤣

I'll try to discreetly take photos when I can.

Those kitty bags look amazing ❤️ ❤️ ❤️. I want one! I wish we got woven food sacks here instead of crappy plastic. I'd definitely have a go at making them.

Sir ClucksALot says I'm not allowed in the run right now 😂. He attacked me while I was giving them wet food and duckweed, realized a second later that I had baby treats and forgot all about me just like that. Him and the unnamed rooster are sharing guard duty, but SirClucks is the only one that gets grumpy with me. All the ladies are fascinated by the babies. They've all seen babies before and have helped Hennie with them, but never this young or got to see them hatch. I knew the babies were hatching because all the ladies were going up to the nestbox and peering in making these inquisitive churring sounds. They're all sticking to Hennie and the babies like glue. This is the first time that none of them have shown any aggression towards the chicks at all. Think it's a combination of experience with chicks and having them hatch in the coop. Very very sweet watching them though!

Forgive the dirty looking water...that's actually dirt scratched in right after I cleaned it. I dumped some dry chick starter right after and they immediately went to kicking it everywhere while I went back for their wet food and duckweed.View attachment 3436570View attachment 3436571View attachment 3436572
