I give treats to Ferdy and he instantly gives them away - either to the ladies or back to me! If he finds something to treat, he'll even treat Stan if there's no ladies (or me) nearby...
Stan really hasn't got the hang of it yet. If I hand him a treat, he makes a few tidbitting noises but if the ladies don't immediately respond, like in 2 seconds, he just eats the treat himself šŸ¤£

I'm glad all my marigolds (and everything else!) are fenced in and chicken-proof now.

Yeah, I'm trying to be less of a rooster to them now so I don't tick off the cockerel. He definitely sees me as competition, crowing with I get near to him, but he pretty much steers clear of me. There are times I can "tell" the chickens to follow me and they all will. He comes along too, but I don't think he appreciates "his" hens following me around.

I keep a close eye on my little cockerel in case that one day he decides to physically challenge me for top position. LOL

Mine love kale too. And if there's something they won't eat but should, I plan to grind it up and mix it into some mashed pellets. But bright orange eggs look cool!
