Have you ever seen dirt move? Parathesia strikes again! Those nasty mites! I found more of them in the 2 window tracks and between the plexiglass movable panes. So, I figured that since rubbing alcohol and water kills spider mites, I made a concoction with that, dish soap, and essential oils. Cinnamon, peppermint, basil, tea tree. Sprayed everywhere I could find cracks, crevices, etc. I am keeping my fingers crossed. It's too wet and cold to be scrubbing down a coop right now.
It's getting colder now, and rainier. I pretty much don't let them out when it's rainy, as some of them will play in the rain. My Blue Sapphires are molting without the classic exploding pillow syndrome. New, shiny feathers are growing in between the old, dirty ones, and no real raggedy look, unlike the Welsummers and BSLs. It's going to be in the high 30's at night.
Silly me left a small bucket with 8 eggs out on my upstairs deck, and I came home tonight to scattered egg shells, egg white puddles and only one egg left intact. The bandits

had a snack. Those are precious this time of the molting season.
