What did you do with your flock today?

This is a lovely position to be in when the weather outside is frightful. We have cold rain. The girls stay under shelter a lot this time of the year. Condensation from the roof and tarps keep their dirt floor damp. Luckily, no snow, and more moderate temps, in the high 30's to low 50's. Hasn't frosted yet. Tiredness from this bug is still hanging on, but getting better, sleeping better as well. I think a few more days to be 100%.
It does seem like we are having a mild winter in Washington so far, except for the amount of rain, which seems like a lot to me. My chickens have opted for indoor spaces during the last few weeks too, but luckily we are having a little break in the weather this week. The temps have dropped down, 37 right now, but no rain and that's a good thing.

I hope you feel better soon, and have some nice tea and a good fire to cuddle next to. It is no good being sick.
We are supposed to get more wet weather tonight and tomorrow 🤞🤞🤞Our mountains are brown and could really use a good soak.

I have been out doing chicken chores b4 the hopeful rain.
Lots to do. Lots of interruptions.

Priority was spinning the compost bin so the bugs would drop out for the girls. Needed to reestablish myself as a good guy.
I have managed to get the grandpa feeder scrubbed, dried, placed and filled. Vitamins in small waterer and grit available. I'm bleaching all my larger waterers - so gross -, scrubbed and bleached the 5g homemade feeder so its drying. Need to order a bunch of stuff like vitamins and oyster shell. Also need to toss a bunch of leaves in their run

I love hearing the girls egg chortles, and then quiet as they adjust the new nesting material. I have missed their silliness ♡♡♡

I'm sure you are happy to have them home, and my guess is they are just as happy. They are in a good home either place I'm sure.
