What did you do with your flock today?

Happy Tuesday! I’m getting a lot of enjoyment out of egg laying antics this week

Went looking for eggs and found 4 chickens in the one box Betty, Fuzzy, Molly and Ally. They have 7 boxes to choose from…and they all go for the same 3 boxes. It’s really funny

And today I did some supervised integration and Ms Frizzle decided to check out the new kid coop and attempted to lay her egg in it She looks a bit silly in their coop because she’s one of the biggest chickens

The littles are still terrified of the rest of the flock so I didn’t make them hang out too long. I’m working on bonding with them more and I actually got 4 of them to eat treats from my hand

They're so sweet all 4 of them together.
I sometimes find the two BOs laying together, but it's more common to find one or two of the reds anxiously hovering right outside of an occupied nest box like a couple of kindergartners doing the peepee dance outside a bathroom stall....when they are usually literally doing their hovering while perched on or right next to 5 other perfectly clean, empty, free-to-use nest boxes. Chickens are entertaining.

And yes, Miss Frizzle is a silly lady. I love it!

Isn't it just magic when the scared ones finally eat from your hand? I'm so hsppy to hear that your littles are starting to accept you. But now we need new photos of them.

Hahaha that is the perfect analogy, and makes me giggle! They are like Kindergartners “But she’s in THIS one and I wanted to use this one!” Haha. I love chickens

And Miyuki....such a fluff ball herself. ❤ I had to laugh at the bedtime photo. I used to sneak in and take photos of my kids when they were sleeping. They thought I was weird. I thought they were adorable.

Haha I know, that was right before she said “you can take her, she keeps biting my feet” I hesitated sharing that picture because of her crazy PJ combo…child loses all her stuff in her pig sty room so she just wears whatever And I got tired of trying to keep it clean and organized! Miyuki is such a good kitty though—she’s so tolerant of the kids and loves to be with people

Yeah, that is Sia! She is definitely a beautiful girl! She stands like a chicken model! I just love her. She’s very very meek but seems to finally be coming out her shell some. She and Cher were not fans of integration time though and both had crammed in that corner with their heads thru the fence bars and their butts facing the other chickens. I’m guessing they felt like they could be invisible that way? Hilarious I will say that integration will need to be slow because the bantam Cochins finally aren’t the lowest in the pecking order anymore and have been the most mean to them! Especially to Cher…poor babies. I was impressed that the boys left them alone for the most part though. They did some sexy dancing for them but that’s all.

I just love them!

Did not know you had them or did you get eggs?

I have a mix flock and my Seramas are among them. Have a rooster and a hen. Lost my 2nd hen a few days ago. My friend who I originally got my Seramas from hatched this little one. Love my Seramas.. super spoiled. Plan on hatching some eggs when my Serama hen starts laying.. any day now.
