What did you do with your flock today?

Happy Sunday all!

@ChicksnMore & @kurby22 BEAUTIFUL birds (and scorpion and sunset ♡) Incredible beauties and fabulous shares.

@FrankieDoodle how are the babies? How are you feeling about your pigeon housing? Will you breed again?

My honey decided to come up on Friday afternoon so I had to switch gears and clean up my sewing mess (threads all over the floor lol) and make dinner. I ended up twisting my ankle helping dh so no walks for a few days ☹. He left after pancakes yesterday and I got back to my sewing. 7 more bags- and my best yet despite the condition of the bags, just stored for a long time and wrinkled. I figured out a few things that work for me and my machine- which is fairly new to me (in the closet for a few years after craigslist purchase) got some of our bugs worked out plus better quality and useful tricks. Very happy with my direction. Feels good getting better at it.View attachment 3230528View attachment 3230530
Headed down the hill today. Broody should be in lockdown.. . Almost expect to see little faces ♡ may be able to lock down the incubator, Little Man's person should be showing up around noon and I am going to show him how to worm his flock and I can drop off the mulch I grabbed, though still have not decided if I will take my truck or just scoot down as it is supposed to be a nice day. Rain dh told me about... 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ was not a thing.
I also really miss my buffs and pullets. .. and I get to watch my guy Miguel Pupo win Teahepoo! On YouTube. Been spying this kid with great style and humility for awhile and this is a great win.

Ouch on your ankle! Hope it feels better fast.

Have you ever surfed? I used to think surfing looked fun...now I think paddling around on a surf board in quiet water and with one of my puppy babies looks fun.
I should be askin u bout that ankle! You better take it easy!

I'm amazed at how ya can get bored on vacation (lack of normal everyday "chores) then get back home and immediately feel tired again from everything ya need to do! Lol
Ok vacation was good but we need to stick to no more than 5 days...we always waste anything more than that...which we did again and got stuck at airport for it...but we r home and got to see all the grandbabies and find out we are gonna have a granddaughter in April after all these boys!!! So that's exciting!
All MY babies did very well...except for Coco bring a boy! Guess he was before we left too just didn't know (and praying really hard for girl!) He's gorgeous though and I may just have to keep lil bubs!
All the others were very happy to see me til I did a health check on em all...but they did very well! Even Bluey relaxed and let me...then he was like I'm outta here! Never had a boy like him at all!
Got a lot of gardening to tend to and decide what to do bout this week before I get my spine implant removed in a week.
The last stimulator never worked and after 3 years has decided to give me additional problems and pain so they finally r gonna remove it!
Thank you for askin bout everything!
I know what you mean on vacations. Glad you had some fun and came home to good news.

That's a cute lil boy you got there...and he has spots❤️❤️❤️! What breed is he?

Are they going to replace the stimulator with a different one? I have a friend with one and don't know how he'd manage without it. Even with it he has to have steroid shots in his spine. He's in his seventies though and still doing construction work....roofs, remodels etc. He's an amazing fellow.

I feel ya...I don't have much luck with patience either! Your bags are so cute!!! I miss sewing...but between my eyes and hands...not to mention my brain it's more frustrating than rewarding! I have a Tennessee Waltz quilt that I had cut out, sewed together, then took it all out cuz my seams weren't perfectly straight and ¼"...oh how I regret that now! It was all quilt shop expensive fabric too...and I got enough to make a bed ruffle and Roman blinds to match it! All that is the ONLY thing I have held on to from my quilting/sewing days in hopes of finishing it...but not looking promising!
I would love to know what you do about sewing. It is fun but I am not doing anything serious. Dont think I have what it takes. My mom was a quilter etc. etc. I must have absorbed a little but rocks and bugs are more my thing.

I was just chatting with a gal pal who was my roommate (many... many) years ago when I was 17. She asked if I was still in the water all the time lol. Ah nope. ☹ i think it is all about reinventing yourself. I have to find things I love passionately but in different ways. Like chickens ♡. Of course chickens can not compare to a perfect day out in the water but perfect surf can't compare to chickens. Excepting that I can't do it all (with in reason) is the hard part. Aging is bitter sweet... more bitter than sweet.

The ankle is doing well. Not a big twist, just a little but I'd rather rest and have a faster heal that muscle through it. Lessons learned.

That's a calico bantam Cochin....he's a sweetheart...of course! Supposed to be a girl lol!
No this is like my 4th implant and surgery regarding stimulator...or more - lost track!
it did give me relief the first few years! I've dislodged one from around the spine...then 3 died.
This one though never would charge from 1 week of havin had surgery! Dr and techs all pointed fingers at the other and I've lived with it not working the past few years.
The battery portion has been literally flipping and pressing nerves. So dr finally agreed ok it needs to come out!
I'm very thankful I've been off morphine and fentanyl the past 2 years! In desperation from insane withdrawals we drove 3 states away for hemp only to be literally taken in a 30 mile u-turn (gps...which was actually totally God designed) to a place that did not sell hemp but was Christian that told us all the nuances of hemp, thc, and other stuff including kratom. We weren't buying anything but did out of appreciation for her time of nearly 2 hours! Kratom has been a life changer for me! It helped with the withdrawals within 30 minutes of taking it! And I haven't been on any pain killers since!!!

Oh I miss it so much! I began during a new ministry at our church gosh maybe 20 years ago....Prayer & Squares prayer quilt ministry and learned how to piece them through that! Then she did a workshop to learn how to quilt and I began to LUV it! Granny and i got to work on 2 quilts together before she passed...I was the only grandchild that ever took it up and learned and so glad I did! I just hate rheumatoid and eyesight has caused me to not be able to do it anymore!?

That sounds like a crazy hard journey your living. No idea what kratom is but I'm glad you found it and that it's working for you. Pain killers scare me... especially as I age. There's just too much time any more when I'd love a pain escape. I'm afraid if I started taking painkillers I'd never be happy anymore without them. Like @TropicalBabies said...aging is bittersweet with an extra helping of bitter at times.

Speaking of...my wonderful first born got me a pair of construction boots! They're heavy leather, have a metal shim in the sole, metal toes, crazy thick, heavy soles AND a removable footbed so I can put my custom orthotics in em. I wear a size 6 if my feet are swollen and these are a size 7. The smallest they make! I feel like I'm wearing clown shoes...but I am in love!❤️
The best part is they cost $35 instead of the $300 price tag on the special shoes the doctor ordered 🤬. I got those $300 shoes too and I got to tell you, these construction boots are far far better for working in.
My new boots❤️ and my favorite yoko cockerel😍.
Think I'm going to name him Schultz. Anyone remember Hogan's Heros? He kinda reminds me of Sergeant Schultz. A goofy guy that's always there hopefully watching you.

Today we knocked out a lot of the duck coop. I’m so happy about that and it is starting to look fantastic!! We got posts in and waiting for the cement to dry, door has wire over it and ready to hang as soon as those posts dry. We also got the bushes planted behind the duck coop to keep some of the north wind down. They probably won’t be much good this year but next might be different. 2 of the 7 of them may not even live to see fall. We will see. I didn’t pay much for them so if they die, they can be replaced. We also cut back some branches off the tree so they weren’t on top of the net.

My second oldest is doing basketball this year and has her first practice tomorrow. We got her a new basketball (even though she has one, the DH said she needed a new one 🤦‍♀️🙄) and we FINALLY put up her basketball hoop. But it took us a while because we were wanting to put it in the ground so the winds we do get don’t keep knocking it over.

Then, Tuesday my oldest has cheer practice and I’m just so nervous! Her try outs aren’t until Thursday but man, I’m still freaking out. I’m going to though anyway until I hear that she either made the team or did not.

Another thing that is stressing me out, and I’m hoping you all have some advice. I have not told the lady I got the ducks from that the dog got all 12 of them. I want to get more from her though and I did tell her I would keep her up to date on them. I just feel that if I do tell her, the best time would be face to face. But I’m not sure if it would really even matter. I don’t know how much she would “care”. I mean there isn’t much she could do and I did pay her for them. I just don’t know. A friend of mine said she wouldn’t say anything unless she asks. But my thought is, when I go get some more ducks, that if she asks tell her. BUT I would also be able to show her the coop is done and how secure it is. What would you all do?

Any more Yet?
I don't know... 😬😬😬 She is acting more like a broody now, not stunned and bewildered like before. It was cute haha but glad I caught her. I'm just gunna let her go and come down and check her tomorrow morning or have dh check her for me. Their heads should be popping out from under mom by then, I don't want to disturb her. She's got this one right? 🙃😊

I think your instinct to tell her is right. I'm sure she'll ask how the babies are doing. I'm sure she'll be sad, but if you tell her all you've done to try to make sure it never happens again she should also feel reassured.
