What did you do with your flock today?

So I am attempting to integrate my teenage ladies and they’re all so timid they just hide in the back of the run all day. Occasionally they try to come out and Marshmallow and the bantam Cochins peck them and they flip out and flap around and hide again. 🤦🏼‍♀️ It’s never been alarming types of pecking, just the “get outta here you in my space twerp” type of sassy pecking. I was doing chicken chores and heard the commotion so I finished up and went to check on them and found Peaches out of the run on top of the coop 🤦🏼‍♀️ There’s a gap in my bird netting and she clearly found it.

So I sat with her and she told me all about it for about 20 mins—literally she talked most of the time. I just love her, she’s such a unique coloring and has a gentle expression that tells you she’s a sweet special one 😍
She so pretty! I love that they each have their own personality. They are seriously like kids ❤️

So my rooster started crowing at 5:30 ish this morning. It was repetitive and he has never done that before. Sun doesn’t come up until closer to 7 now. And in the summer it isn’t until 6. So I got up and went out to check on them. And everyone was fine, thank goodness. Still not sure though why he was doing it. I decided to go in and just get some coffee going. I’m setting on my couch and my dog comes down stairs. She wanted in her kennel but I didn’t want to get up and open her door. It was open enough she could have gotten in but she is funny like that. So I told her to come lay down and pointed to the floor. Nope roomed around the house and came back. Jumped on the couch and just snuggled herself under my arm, head in lap….spilled my coffee everywhere 😭😭😭!!! I’m so sad because if it’s my coffee being spilled, it’s my 2 yr old son taking it. 😭 I can never win…oh well mother hood and I love it really 🤣

Good morning gang and happy Aloha Saturday... it is Saturday right? 🤔 been insanely busy. I need to clean and reorganize everything and have barely finished unloading my truck when DH made an appointment for AJs dog on the otherside of island and I gotta do the running. There went almost a whole day...
On the amazing side... flock reintergration has been surprisingly smooth. I seem to have the dreamy and drama free 2 roo flock (at the moment- holding breath...). They have sectioned off beautifully, Beetle having more and younger girls, Spider with the light B's and matriarch's. Last night most all went to sleep in the main coop- peacefully. I think... this may work out with the boys 🤞🤞🤞. 2 girls did have had a few throw downs but nothing too big, just surprising. I think I have 45 birds at the moment (with chicks)... maybe the boys are happy to see each other...

Everythings quiet this morning. We got rain yesterday and Schultz managed to get wet somehow, so I brought him onto the porch to sleep overnight. He's finally starting to get grumpy with me for picking him up so much lately...he used to run up to me, jump on me and let me pet him. Now he runs up to me but isn't jumping on me and isn't always letting me pet him. ☹️ He'll probably relax after a month or so of normal life again. 🤞 I've gotten such a kick out of his greetings and will miss them if he doesn't.
Today and tomorrow are all outdoor time. The neighbors coming to get a walk through and I'll top off everything, pick some green beans, peppers and stuff and lots of treats and attention for all the beasties this weekend. I enjoy that as much as they do, so it's going to be a lovely weekend ❤️

On the bag news!!! Feed store ASKED about carrying my bags!!! Well, that is 1 so far! Need to get permission from non-profit and build a stand! Most exciting!!!

Also have another order of chicks so fired up the bator AGAIN.
For my daily cool off DH and I have been going for rides in the late noon/early eves. What a good God send. Just loving Boo big time! Yesterday was the gnarly Waimea side canyon road. More intense hills and corners than the Kekaha side but I made it up perfect fine. Thank goodness we went down the Kekaha way...🤢
