What did you do with your flock today?

Morning all! Well, @kurby22 I did threaten Moki with a special dinner guest invite the other night and have fantasized about dropping my L.B & old bat load a few times. They seem to be so unbending to the sweet little buffs who are so content & peaceful. This too shall pass 🤦‍♀️ right...?

Yes @Gammas Bearded Babies they just go in to sleep (and poop 🙄 ALOT). Though, I do have a useful nesting box attached to the far end. All in all it works great for me/us/space available/here. It is 3.5' x 16' w/ 2 x 8' roost only on the long side that littereally opens up for easy access. That seems to do the trick for the most part it is too hot or nice weathered with too many bugs for inside living here.View attachment 3279510 View attachment 3279469
Normally just a few lower ranking or fussy chickens use the side roost, great for pre-lay pullets and I am sure the A team will adjust accordingly.
I am due for a serious scrub and freshening of coop and run. See if I can't do some stuff better. I'm a few years off from being able to dream about my next coop which may be more like this but bigger.View attachment 3279512
What a FUN place for all your babies!!! I luv it! The tree lim hanging out there is cool!
I got my d'uccles a macrame rope swing and they checked it out.several times but not swinging! I think it moves a little too freely for their taste. May need to figure a way out to anchor it to the side of the run so it doesn't swing quite as freely.

This could be our last warm week...still no rain I'm sight so I thought I'd try to get the trim and painting done on the coop.
Got 5 pieces in and ran out of 1x3 strips for the trim. Soooooo hum.

I have thought about putting something like that in my run. Just not so sure they would use it. I put old chairs and a stool out there for them. They they play on it?? Nope! Maybe one day they will do that. I would love to see a picture of what you have for a swing.

Mine acted like the swing might murder them and that I was a traitor for bringing it 😆😆 but mine do love their chairs and ladders!

🤣 I think mine would just look at me with the “REALLY?” look. My mom bought them a xylophone and they liked that. So much that one picked at another to get back while she was playing it. But that has since died. It was only cool for 2 days. It is becoming obvious to me that it is going to take a lot to impress them.

Mine don't use it all of the time but it does get use. Mostly by the younger crowd getting out of the way of the old grumps and therefor adding footage to my run. So win!
That is an awesome win win! I might consider this when I get more littles. They might like it better. But really these guys are 19 weeks tomorrow and they have been like this forever. Just snobby 😂.

I just love the way yours looks. It’s just so pretty! Mine is so blah. I had herbs growing on the outside but a rabbit kept eating them so they didn’t do anything really. I’m hoping next year will be better.
