What did you do with your flock today?

@Gammas Bearded Babies
These are also very light weight! I’m hoping I will only need them in there for a short time. I’m thinking to leave the rest of what I had as a decor. I only have one in each box. The prices of them very well may have gone up since you bought yours. I seen that and laughed. There was no way I was going to spend $9 for 4 eggs. Granted they are heavier but not worth what I needed them for. Before I found the ones I got I was going to check out Amazon. At least the cashier didn’t just throw the eggs around without care lmao but that is just so funny!!! I would honestly be wondering why you only bought 4 for that price 🤣 🤣🤣
Same! Now I'm wondering what I did with my receipt so I can see what I did pay!?!

K. I don't even want to hear you guys complain about prices 😂 I paid $10 for 2 eggs years ago. I still have them. I started buying the alabaster eggs on ebay cuz they were cheaper than the ceramic but those are crazy in price too. Good thing I don't have to buy any more... unless I am bored with too much money. I guess we all gotta make a living... even the fake egg maker people.

Gorgeous birds!! I love the last one. 😍
Thank you, I think he is a handsome cockerel myself! That was 5 of my 29, then I have a separate, mature Cemani flock of 7! Unfortunately, out of the 29, there are 3 barnyard mix cockerels and then I have 6 Cemani cockerels, so I am currently up a creek as I can’t even give them away (literally) and don’t want to cull them ☹️ I’m hoping I can keep two Roos with my mixed flock, but I guess we’ll see 👀

I would have used the plastic Easter eggs…and I did consider this. $10 for 2 is nuts!

Billy got his heart test yesterday and we should get the results sometime today. Yesterday was rough with 4 seizures. He had one overnight and another this morning too, but on the good side 3 of those were mild. The other 3 were horriblely hard and severe. But he's bright eyed in between and he's getting all the treats and love we can give him.

Fingers crossed that this round of tests brings an answer and something we can do.
Aww poor Billy!! :-( I hope you get helpful and promising news for him. :-( I had a corgi get seizures once and they figured it must’ve been her kidneys because her levels were rather alarming….and she lasted another year with us before they failed :-( I hope Billy can get relief and live lots longer! ❤️❤️

Today was a busy day and I didn’t have a ton of time for the chickens, but had to make time for them tonight when I checked the coop cam and saw that their auto door was still open at 8:20. Went out to close it and discovered that a rat had chewed the electrical wire and the door now won’t shut 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ So we all went out in the dark with head lamps and iPhone flashlights and tried to scare away the rats and find something to block the door until morning when we can try to fix it 😩 This of course had to happen 7 days before we go on a trip to idaho and have a pet sitter…😡 stupid rats! 🐀 I ordered two extra replacement cords but I’m sure they won’t make it before we leave and this is of course the only coop that now has no door at all to use if the auto door isn’t working either 😩 So annoying!

I did get a bit of time with the new babies, and a couple of the chickens outside before it got dark, but they’ve been a bit neglected due to work stuff this week! They were very happy to get their treats though!!

Edited to add**the waterer looks gross but it’s got meds and apple cider in it to cut the taste of the meds. And the other waterer is empty so I can force them to drink their yucky meds. They’re not being neglected I swear! 😆

@TropicalBabies congratulations to your ohana addition! Babies are such a blessing. Including new flock members. Yes, 5 pm is early, by next month it'll be 4:30. It's been a rainy, windstorm day. Fence is complete, so I can let the flock out without worry. Came home a couple nights ago, and figured everychick was in the coops. Next morning, found 4 had roosted either on the top of the run or in a tree, and were happily outside in the big run. One cockerel went over the garden fence, so he was in there all day, in the rainy weather. Knew I couldn't catch him, and went to look for him at night, to no avail. He was still in there this morning, so caught him with my fishing net and a long pvc and got him back into the coop. Whew, the weather would have soaked him. I have been given about 10 puzzles to keep me occupied, however, I am in the middle of a 448 episode Turkish historical fiction saga on Netflix. Binge watching for now.
