Today I cleaned my grow out pen, for when the chicks move out. Hopefully they’ll be out soon, they should’ve been outside a week or two ago.

Today I gave the birds leftover corn on the cob. Some of my current flock has never seen corn on the cob before. One of them was terrified of it. The rest of them wanted me to pick the kernels off for them. Spoiled birds.

My older birds learned about corn on the cob from the younger birds. I scraped a couple kernels while holding the cob and once the little kids got those first few nibbles they went nuts. After they got used to biting the kernels off I didn't need to hold the cob anymore. Then the older birds wanted some of whatever the kids were eating. Fresh corn starts a real feeding frenzy now.
