What did you do with your flock today?

So, dropped the ferrets off and yes I did... :hit it's just my thing lol.
So, going to get the vacuum and a mop out while they are away and enjoy the look and smell of clean floors for awhile.
Chickens are great, laying well & behaving. The littles had their first dirt day in the garden box yesterday afternoon, I also put them out again first thing this morning despite the somewhat cloudy and potentially wet weather conditions. They were having just too much fun as I think I am a little late with their age for the intro. I put a small piece of roofing tin over their food and water for sun and rain protection just incase.
So just waterers today and some scraping of boards after I am finished with our floors. I have about 5 hours until I pick up the kittens. :wee

Sorry about your guy :( please update us when you can as we are all rooting for his good health and your happiness.
Thank you! I think I spoke too soon about the antibiotics not working. He’s still limping, but the scabs peeled off. :wee
I didn’t poke around too much, but I’ll definitely work more on him tomorrow. I’m excited, but I’m trying not to hold my breath. He’s had some form of bumblefoot for around two years now, but I’m really hoping this will be the thing that finally cures him. He had shoes for a while, but his feet got too big for those.

Did you pick them up yet? How are they doing?

I’ve been working on making a new nesting box for my faverolles. The one they have now is too big (it was originally for my ducks), and I’ve noticed mice have been living behind it. I’m planning to put it on stilts so the mice can’t hide and my girls can walk under it, but not so high they hurt themselves jumping down. Most of the pieces are cut out and painted, I’m just waiting to get screws tomorrow.
I’m also planning on deep cleaning/scrubbing out their coop sometime tomorrow, so it’ll probably be a pretty busy day for me. The faverolles* will spend a large chunk of the day in a grassy pen, so I’m sure they’ll be happy with that. If I get the time I’ll try to get some pics.

Also I got distracted and I forgot to get a video of Iris.

Oops, I forgot to attach the pictures. They’re really gory, so I wouldn’t recommend looking if you’re about to eat. :p
These were taken on May tenth, right after being soaked in Epsom salt.

And these were today. I didn’t get any pictures of his right foot, but there’s only a tiny black spot, and the rest is almost fully healed, although still really swollen. It looks a little better IRL.

There’s still a lot of chunks that need to be cleaned out, and I need to work on his lower toe, but it’s a good start.
I wish I got him antibiotics a lot sooner.

Oh my goodness. So many people are having nightmare bumblefoot lately. I am so sorry. My gal pal on Maui has been battling for months and is almost at her end... just does not know what else to do. I have never heard of anyone using antibiotics before and I hope that is what works 😢💔
Ferrets are back! Laying a little low thank goodness. I am so happy to have them back and I think they are too. Don't they know it was my fault they got tortured?!! I thought they would be mad at me but instead I think they are just grateful to be home.
