What did you do with your flock today?

Pretty sure that was from one of the roos I gave away recently. Hes a pretty mutt boy with ee and yoko in him. Big puffy cheeks, long legs and tail and very colorful feathers. I only keep yoko roosters in the big birds though. Let's me know my yoko eggs are all yoko.

So glad you got your babies back!
Oh my goodness. Welp. You sure like your tails! 😍 would love some photos. My goodness what a bird. Bet the cross with ee is pretty cool. I love mutts myself. So cuddly.

I guess I do! Tails and spots ❤️ Most of the rest of this week's crazy busy and hubby's bday is this weekend to boot. I'll try to get some pictures though! Everyone posts these gorgeous photos on here and a lot of my world is ugly bare dirt...so my photos just aren't as pretty as you guys...lol.

I am sure your birds would be the main attraction in any setting and bravo for raising such beauty. My chicken run used to be a beautiful garden and now... it is a moon cave dust bowl desert. All living things were consumed. Right now my main locust/flock only has yard privileges in the mornings and early eves. That has helped and Spider seems to like having his girls in a nice safe spot as opposed to having to chase and worry.
I applaud you and what it must take to raise and breed your babies and hope to glean some things from you.

Well they are beautiful and I hope you keep us posted on your adventures.

@PJ I'd really like that. I love coop builds. 😍

Well, we got our new compost bins built and inspected. Now if the inspector would quit pushing on the fence posts it'd be great. Don't want to have to replace those any sooner than needed. 😕
Those look nice!! Your inspector sounds a bit counterproductive for the job at hand! Or perhaps just doing the job well! Is it realllly solidly built? I shall put it to the test! 😆

Super pretty feather! I love my quail feathers for the same reason! So pretty and colorful 😍 I am doing the same with my OD rooster! He has lots of ladies, but he’s alone in his area as the only boy. Makes selling and swapping and hatching way way easier 🙃

I want to start perhaps breeding d’Anvers so I may need to rearrange my set up and create a third run for them! My husband is gonna kill me haha. Although he came in tonight and said he got asked by the neighbors if that rooster they hear each morning was ours…and I held my breath. She said they love hearing them haha, and she finds the one that sounds like he’s just learning to crow hilarious 😆 So PHEW! Haha, so now he can’t say the neighbors don’t want to hear the boys 🫣 hehe.

Anywho, need to sleep now! Night all!

I almost forgot to take pictures! It was 84° by 6am this morning so I kinda whipped through my chores and came in. Only 90° by 9 when I remembered...lol.
So I'll start off with a surprise toad. These guys are usually only seen in the evening...not sure what he was doing out in broad daylight!

Here's my favorite yoko, Nutters. He's not the prettiest but he always comes to join me in the garden. The others usually take a while to get here. He's the low man in the pecking order and just an extremely gentle guy.

Then we have our peas...this is Oregon the obnoxious. My kids love him to bits but until he's learned to stop trying to jump on people, he worries me. He is learning though.

Here hes trying to display with his baby two year old tail that got shredded when we moved the birds recently.

The white boy here is Bowie. The girl is a Java hen named....Java!😉

This one is Java and Sprinkles, a dark pied lady with white eye in her.

Next we have Clyde and a few of his babies. He's a snowy call duck. We have snowies and white. He's molting here (all my birds are right now) so he's not looking his best. His wife is nesting again instead of taking care of her babies☹️.

Then we have Heneviere. My all time favorite hen. She loves to jump on your shoulder and just hang out.
20220608_090308.jpg
Her flock mates Branwen and Nyneve.

And her rooster Sir Clucks ALot with one of their babies.

This group is baby Olandsk Dwarf chickens and a baby yoko. I have more yoko babies but they're younger then the dwarfs and newly out of their safety pen. They're not standing still long enough to get much a picture. I'm thinking of crossing the Yoko's and dwarfs just for fun. I bet they'd make beautiful babies together 😍

I forgot to take pictures of my Creles and decided it was too hot to go as far as the big chickens coop! It's on a auto timer to open so they're out and about for the day.

Forgot to say that Heneviere and crew are OEGB spangles.

Oh wow, Heneviere and crew look a lot like ODs, I had to look again to see the spangled pattern! I love the name Heneviere btw :D I named one of my OD hens "Henley" hehe. Your Yokos fascinate me, are they generally easy going and friendly? They’re so pretty and unique!

I love Oregon haha, he seems super nosy and full of personality 😆 But that dark pied lady is my favorite! How pretty! A female that is pretty too!

I also want your call ducks haha. You have all sorts of awesome colorful birds! 😍😍😍 thanks for sharing all your babies. I just love all the pictures of peoples flocks!

I took a couple glamour shots of my babies today :) The ones on my neck are beeby Olandsks and I just love them hehe. I also contacted the breeder I got my Lav Orp from and she confirmed that Hope is lavender cuckoo, not just lavender and looks to be a pullet. 😍🥰🥳 I’m so excited! 🥳🥳 Also, Sia loves to look right at the camera to send me reminders that she’s ready for quarantine (after the Fair) to be over 😆

Oh my goodness ♡♡♡ I'm just in love with what you are doing. I want to be your neighbor and enjoy the sounds of the jungle lol.
What started you on peacocks and heritage breeds? How long have you been keeping as your confidence level is awesome.
Also, how does everyone do with the heat and what are your best tricks for it?
