Looking forward to tomorrow and getting them set up better. Made the right decision to come up 👍 they are stoked.

I got some quick luvins from Daisy and Bluey. Joey behaved himself today so I guess he must have missed me yesterday since I had grandbabies! And lil Lizzy just sat in my lap so contently!
The d'uccles must be going through a teenage phase cuz they just want treats and no much luvin unless it's Cathy. Chatty and Gabby eh. Oh well this too shall pass!
Now to move the lil babies on to big brooder outsider in run or leave in garage?
I tried field trips with em a few times and they did ok.
But since I added 5 day younger lil cochins they haven't been fully integrated. Hum...decisions decisions.

Gotta make some tough decisions. My Splash Ameraucana is starting to be aggressive. He is only 8 weeks old. I’m really thinking though to separate him from the pullets and start there first. I don’t want to get rid of him but if I have to for the good of the girls and my kids, than I’m going to have to. But I wanna try everything first. He isn’t attacking us yet….just some of the pullets and one in particular. They sleep next to each other and lay around together. And sometimes he ignores her. Other times though he runs at her. I’m attaching a link to the video my husband took last night.

Also she isn’t sick and is eating and drinking and pooping fine. She is acting like she is scared of him. The other girls don’t have a problem with her either.

In the video, my husband started recording it after he first got her, and she was screaming. The other pullets, came to her. You can see in the video they are trying to protect her. She is down like that because he just got her.

I hate when they do that to each other!
Does he do it to any of the others? Is she new? Any bloodshed?

No blood shed that goodness. He tries with a few others but this one is his favorite to pick on right now. Others he thinks about, runs up to them like he is going to, stops dead in his tracks and doesn’t do anything. And no, she isn’t new. They all came together. I just put them outside (coop finally ready for them) a few nights ago. Up until then everything was fine.

To me that looks like a young, overhormoned teenage boy that hasn’t yet figured out how to woo her properly. I have a couple like that and some have grown out of it and others don’t. They’re too young to mate but he has the drive to do it and just can’t figure out how it’s done properly and she’s too young to tell him off. Try squirting him with the hose when he does it and see if that helps deter him. If not, a couple days of isolation may help. I’m rehoming Ferdinand because he did not grow out of this phase and is just more annoying and disrespectful to his elders. You don’t want babies that carry on with these manners so I’d consider rehoming if he doesn’t grow out of it as he ages! He’s very pretty though ❤️❤️

@TropicalBabies that looks like a beautiful place to just hang out and relax!

The ducks didn't have enough shade in their temp pen so I added some this morning. Here they are before more shade was added.

I moved the chickens I'm keeping last night but didn't take my phone with me so no pics yesterday. This morning they're very curious...exploring and digging like mad.

The little sign there says "I have ocd. Obsessive Chicken Disorder" It was given to me by the same lady that gave me my original chickens, so it definitely needed to go in there.😍

I picked my dragon fruit this morning and treated the spangles with some that were bugged up. Happy birds!
