What did you do with your flock today?

🌺Happy Thursday all!
@ChicksnMore your babies are in such GOOD capable hands ♡ I really hope for some good results on your test. 🤞🙏.

I don't get to claim Asian decent but am lucky enough to have 1/4 Asian kids and Cambodian inlaws. Not to mention my beautiful grand babies 🥰💕
First in line for the food. Still have a few good recipes in my head from my Okinawian X MIL. Terrific lady.
Not thrilled about the NY celebrations as I really hate fireworks. They have completely terrorized Hawaii's neighborhoods. Rude, thoughtless, inconsiderate, PLANET KILLING f-ing fireworks 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 sorry. I'm pre- stressing 😂😂😂😂

We had a good, sudden and unexpected rain last eve. The kind that gives an inch in a few hours and well, we need it. Been dry here. Mosquitos have been bad and I have been spraying the roosts and area around b4 bed but my first little-little was a little low yesterday and upon a quick look I saw a few pox. So, here we go.
My Buff B's Heilani & Ka'iulani got into a throwdown brawl. Saddest/funniest thing I've seen in awhile. Bad as any roosters and I had to break them up a few times. Such sweet girls mad 🤣🤣🤣. What was cool is as I was waiting for Spider to come in and break them up, Mazzie (maybe Indie) came to break it up instead. I had already picked up Kai but did catch her reprimand of Hei. I just love chickens 🤗 So much smarter than we give them credit for ♡
The gang got worms and leftover and lots of free range as my head is still stuck in a sewing machine.

I've got all my birds on lockdown. The yokos get most of the free range time and I'm wondering if that's how they got it. So no play time for any of my birds until the yokos problems are resolved.

Checked them this morning and all but one of the sick birds is showing improvement. One now has both eyes swollen shut, crop empty and breathing sounds. No nasel discharge. Re-treated her eyes and some cheesy lumps came out. One chunk as big as my pinky nail. Mixed her some chick starter, mixed grain instant baby food, soy based infant formula and tetracycline into a watery mix and she gladly gulped some up. Hopefully it'll help. Moved her into a small cage with a heat lamp. It's been a couple hours since her treatment and she can open one eye a crack now.View attachment 3379626View attachment 3379627
Oh my! No words!!! I'm glad so many are improving! This just looks so miserable! You are doing an amazing job treating em and knowing what to.do!

She is so swollen in the face 😢 poor baby. Is she the first one who showed signs of illness? Glad you were able to clean some of the gunk out. Good the other 2 seem to have breezed through it. Keep us posted as we are all learning... good and bad ♡

Love that Spider breaks up fights ❤️ Couple of my hens got into a fight the other day and Brie broke them up. Ran between them, pushed the attacked hen away, turned towards the attacker and started pecking the empty ground and making his come get it call. The mad hen forgot she was mad while looking for the non-existent treat. It was a good laugh 🤣

That first hen looks just fine now. Her eye never swoll back up at all. 🤷‍♀️ This one's my most colorful hen and used to be the smallest...though she did finally grow to the same size as the rest.

My mom asked me to send her some pet pics to share with her friends and I came across an old pic of Kimi with baby Manchego and Gouda. They always thought feet made the best perch.

Well @kurby22 my brain just does not work that way anymore.. I messed with it and messed with it til I'm hurting all over and my brain is mush!
But atleast I got an idea ...I think... if what I need to do?!
Oh me!!!
Ahh dang it!! I hate when our bodies fail us like that :-(. I can’t close my right hand all the way because my hand hurts from all the painting. I’m taking a painting break in hopes it calms down—and maybe a muscle relaxant tonight! Having an idea is the biggest step I think! The details can be addressed as you go! :)

Ahhh that’s the saddest sight! Mycoplasma sucks. I hope it’s something else! So many things end up with eye issues it’s hard to know the cause. I hope she recovers! Tylan or Enrofloxacin are the best meds I’ve found when those sinuses get super swollen—along with the Terramycin. It’s usually good enough for mild cases, but that girl looks so sad 😭 I hope she heals fast!
