What did you do with your flock today?

Thank you for the encouragement. She laid an egg this morning, despite being in low light. Had a little blood on it, but the prolapse is smaller, almost back in all the way. Yay! Urates are still leaking out. She is acting normal, making more poop in larger sizes. I will still keep her separated from the rest for 2 weeks after stopping the meloxicam, so that residues will be gone. Eggs are getting sold even before they're laid! For future reference, dose is 0.5-1 mg/kg. once or twice a day. I've been more aggressive with her, 2x day, 2.5 mg. I am using my own meds, so I think I will be eating her eggs until egg withdrawal time of 2 weeks is done. Does anyone know what to use to get those sticky, super glue urates off of butt feathers? Soaking and rubbing is not working quite so well. No fluffy butt.
I'd keep her separate until she's fully healed. If even a tiny bit of tissue is visible, she'll get it pecked at. Last thing she needs is more damage. But it all sounds promising :hugs

Good luck with your hatch! I got mine from Omega Hill's Farm over in Mississippi. With all the rough weather we have been having, I'm surprised any of the shipped one's hatched. I live in Arizona, so I tried to pick a place in the south to order them from.
Mine luckily came only 4/5 hours from me. Thank you! I still have hope…just worried.

I just finished my hatch of 6 shipped Bielefelder hatching egg's that made it to lockdown. All 6 have hatched and I ended up with 5 pullet's and 1 cockerel. This one is my first pullet chick that hatched yesterday.

What a sweet lil baby!!! Congrats!
Oh for sure! The Cemani’s haven’t piped yet so I’m still waiting patiently on them. This is the progress so far.
Hatch day is always so exciting! Good luck for a good one!

I’m really hoping to see pips out of the Cemani’s soon. They are obviously bigger than the bantams, so I’m not completely freaking out but freaking out at the same time. Ya know… 🤣
Yep I definitely know!!!
Breathe...they'll come through for ya!

Bambi finally had a 💩...not like a full broody poo that's humongous. But normal in size and hard in texture...but not sure how long after I left she did it either.
Her crop is like a water balloon going down now..still bigger than it should be with no food today.

@PopoMyers and @Gammas Bearded Babies so glad both your birds are making progress ❤️❤️❤️❤️
My first baby is coming!!! Eeeekkk😁😁😁😁🥳🥳🥳🥳 My one and only Bantam Cochin….
Congrats 🎉 Fingers crossed for the cemani too! I'm sure they'll be soon ❤️

Such a pretty baby 😍. Are the Bielefelders like crele with the little white spot for sexing? How awesome to know what you have on hatch day ❤️
Trouble is, they're letting him get away with murder! Even Ferdy just gives him a bit of a stink eye and leaves it at that! :barnie
🤣

Tomorrow's supposed to rain so I spent the day outside until the wind kicked up. Let Mina out to play so I had to find jobs out in the main part of the yard cause she cries if she can't follow me around. Mucked the pond :sick and pulled a bunch of pennywort out to give the ducks...happy ducks!
Still not warm enough to paint my joined coops with the asphalt so decided to putz around on the rebuild for my oldest coop. The original coop was built from pallets and the goats could reach it...well, they chewed an awful lot of the wood right off a long time ago. It was still sound, but was looking so bad that I tore it out back when I moved the adult yokos in with the babies. Now that they're all back out there, I really need to get a new coop built. So got started...long ways to go still.

Think if hubby wants to move into town when he retires I'm going to insist on a pretty, professional looking coop that's not built from scraps 🤣. But at least I know it'll function well when I'm done.

Working out there was fun though with Mina and Jazzy following me around. Jazzy gave me a back scratch and Mina tried to eat screws. Shes such a goat! 🤣

Yes, and only the females have that darker chipmunk markings with the "V' shape on the heads. The males don't, as you can see all 6 of them here. The male is the one on the right in the front.
