What did you do with your flock today?

Peaceful mornings...what is that?!
Both buff boys are crowing now...not to mention refusing to come back to the run like the others do when it's time to be put up to protect them from hawks circling! It took me 1 ½ hours this morning to catch the two turds!
Sounds like a delightful way to end the day!

So glad insurance is kicking in to help. That must've been upsetting having that much damage done. Hope those contractors get busy too!

Your "sprinkle" for your girls sounds wonderful and I'm sure they're going to love it ❤️ When are your girls due and do they know gender?

Exciting to have that many plant babies going! My starting shelf is still covered with plants I brought in for the winter. Speaking of, I should move them outside today! Surely the colds done here this year. Moved them out once already and had to bring them back in. When is winter usually over where you are?
They told DH to unlock gates so I did...not sure why I did cuz they have yet to show still again. Just frustrating beyond belief!

My oldest and middle daughters are both pregnant with girls! They both have only boys so this will be the first granddaughters in the family on both sides...can u say spoiled!!! They are due 3 weeks apart so gonna be really busy in April and May which is another reason I'm sure God wanted me to wait bout hatching! 😅
I do have 1 wall up and ¾ of the floor in using all scraps!!! But man is it the funniest jigsaw of a coop you have ever seen!
It must be pretty sound though cuz it even survived the wind storm and some of it was only being held on with clamps! Lolol

Indigo Girls!!!? If so yay 😊...I love them too. One of my favorite bands ❤️. Love your business card! Hope you have a lot of fun selling at the expo!
Wow on the water amount you guys have gotten this winter! So needed but all at once is always awful 😞. Hoping this storm is your last for a bit.

I'll have to try the tofu in the air fryer! We have one but I've never thought to try that even though I eat a lot of fried tofu.
Funny kitty there 😂. I used to have a silly Siamese named Mushka that had a thing for worms. This was back when I lived in Spokane. Every time it rained these huge earthworms would come out and he'd run around collecting them and bring them home. He'd stash them all over the house. Nothing like cleaning dead shriveled worms out of the carpet!

Bet Pepper loved that ❤️. Yes on the weather...mine go off laying for a short spell with sudden weather changes. Usually here it's because of extreme heat...but occasionally from cold too. Think when the weather change is big, they have to focus on adjusting to it and it throws them off laying.
Oh my! Maybe your cat thought they were snakes? My old cat used to lie across the floor in front of the dresser and refuse point blank to move whenever i hoovered. Turned out he had a stash of desiccated, mangled spiders under there... 🕷️

Pepper laid a maybe soft-shelled egg, well, by the time I saw the remnants of it there was only a bit of yolk and white. There was also a tiny bit of blood.
Probably from the lack of calcium. I put oyster shell for her. Noticed when she pooped that her vent still has some of the crusty stuff, but at least it goes back in afterwards.
She so wants to go back with everyone, or at least be out of jail.
Do you think her friends recognize her? Would it be ok to put her back? I've never had to keep one out for 2 weeks, now.
I've never had to keep one out that long either but I'd go slow re-intergrating her. Can you keep her separate by sectioning off part of the run for her? If so, I'd put her in there during the day so they can all look at each other but not touch. Last thing we want is for her to prolapse again. I'd bring her in still on a night so there's no chance of injury while she's roosting.

Ok, will do. Been putting her out there to visit in her extended room, which is another rabbit cage, put door to door so she could eat grass, which she was excited about. Today it's supposed to rain, though. Not sure if I want to put a feeder out, because the rats might come back. Just for the short few weeks might be ok. The other girls might get upset that they don't get to use the nest box in the small coop, but they are fickle anyway. :plbb

My daughter gave me her instapot and ive used it a few times but not for meals...any recipes yall could send my way are greatly appreciated! I am intimated by it lol.
I was gifted one and wasn't so sure how to use it. Now I love it! Google and YouTube are great resources. Fresh eggs peel easily when cooked in it. Mine is a Farberware, but same princlple.

Add a cup of water in it. Use the rack to put your eggs on. Close and set for 5 min. (For those xl and jumbo+ eggs, I go 6 min) when time is up, leave in there for 5 min. Release pressure, and remove eggs to iced water. Peel and enjoy!

I know, living in CA has its perks! They come to this area a lot, but I have also traveled to see them in Portland when they played with a symphony. Got to even see them twice in college, once in a big concert venue at WSU and once in the U of I Student Union Building on their Honor the Earth Tour...I got to be in the third row...could almost touch them! Was the best--I was just soooo happy that day ❤️ They also introduced me to Brandi Carlile way back in 2008 and I had found my second obsession--I even have her autograph haha. I absolutely LOVE her and have seen her at least 10 times haha. She's getting too big to afford seeing anymore, but there is something in her music that speaks to me deep in my soul--I'm not really a concert and live music person...but I will spend it on them! :)

That sounds live a very lovely and relaxing way to end the day! I wish the rain would stop so I could sit out with mine after work...they always lower my blood pressure and bring me joy.

Thank you! I can't wait to see how the logo turns out as a watercolor and a more professional artist! :) Yes, the mess is my least favorite part...muddy feet, muddy coops, muddy waterers, slippery ground to manage in...and 8 more days in a row of it before a small break and then MORE rain. :hit

All the chickies seem to be managing the rain pretty well. I am getting MUCH better at diligently adding probiotics and acidifiers and vitamins and it seems to be helping! Everyone is laying now too, so we are already drowning in eggs haha. I need to make a huge batch and feed the chickens some, might be a nice warm treat this afternoon in the rain. Chance to add some vitamins to their eggs too. Hehe.

I think it's so nice of you to host sprinkles!! It's always nice to acknowledge each baby coming into the family. I mean OBVIOUSLY first borns are most special...hehehe :p but the other babies still wanna feel special! :D

I'm so bummed for you that you have been dealing with unreliable contractors and insurance companies! That is sooo not fun. Part of our fence came down in one of the last windstorms and our neighbor already fixed it! I wanna just hire him to redo all our bad fence sections haha. He was fast, cheap, and clearly very capable! But he's very busy at the moment finishing up the addition they are adding to their house. Most of the bad fence left is shared with him so I'm happy about that :D I really hope you are able to get the contractors back on track ASAP!
I'll have to take a listen to her Brandi... sounds lovely. Sweet neighbor you have there! Hopefully he'll help with the rest of that shared fence too!
And yup...I'm not sure my pets would agree that I'm well trained, but they'd probably say I'm getting there 🤣
Speaking of pets.... Mo'o Mele went from being grateful to get a meal to a cat attacking dish troll. He jumps on my cats backs much like dominant lion behavior. Soooo. Texted my KCCP pal for some advice and she said she has a plane ticket for him to get a terrific home in Seattle! How easy is that?!! I take him in for another physical Saturaday and he travels on Wednesday. So relieved ♡♡♡♡ will miss him but he has only been getting worse.
That's amazing on Mo'o Mele! And wonderful...I'm sure he'll love his new home too ❤️

Yay for baby girls😍...I only had girls so I might be prejudiced...but I think they're the best 😃

Youngest is working on turning the dirt for me in the yokos run and I spent the morning working on her harp. Got the last coat of varnish on the body and stained the sound box. Wish the sound box was wood instead of cardboard! She bought an unfinished kit harp and wanted me to wood burn it and finish it for her. My parts all done now and the assembly is all up to her. Her sister offered to help her put it together but she's visiting a friend in Kansas right now. Curious to see if Tami will wait for her sister or be brave and try doing it on her own.

That harp is beautiful!! I love love the leaves :love:love

Yes, I highly recommend Brandi if you like the Indigo Girls. She is a unique musician that doesn't fit well in any genre but fits great in many. She's so gifted and a wonderful human being besides. :D

I am sure your pets are unhappy with the training thus far, but they seem well on their way! :lau:lol:
