What did you do with your flock today?

What a commotion this morning! Birds woke me early this morning with their carrying on. Did a little walk around but nothing to see except excited birds. Not a single dog barked or chased anything...they thoroughly explored the chickens area and found nothing.
The birds are still at it. What a cacaphony! I'm wide awake from it and my dogs....are snoozing . But they're snoozing with the chickens so I'm going to go drink my coffee that's surely cold by now.

That's amazing! Best I can get with my little car is 39.2...and I have to work for that kinda mileage

My little truck can give me close to 25 on a good day. I love having it for when I need it but if I don't need to cart something around... I don't like being in it. Had to drive my DHs truck around a few times last week total torture.

I have a little 2015 Sentra. When I taught my youngest how to drive my gas milage dropped down to 37.6 though . I still want a truck but I am glad not to have a trucks mpg!

Nothing visible out there still and the birds are calmed down. Think snakes a good bet for what spun them up even if I didn't see one. No babies out there but there's always mice in the coops to attract them.

I think the only thing that I could give my little truck up for is a Subaru hybrid or EV. Crosstrec or maybe Outback or another motorcycle scl 500 ♡♡♡ girls gotta dream. But, that ain't gunna happen for awhile so I may as well settle in. I do think of putting my truck plates in storage sometimes. Maybe just parking it as much as possible is as good as I'm gunna get for now. As much as I can do to flip the to the gas companies

Hubby wants to get an electric when we go to replace my car. With our girls 10 years apart in age it's been handy for their cars. Tami's currently got Jim's old car and when mine hits ten years old she'll get it too. Hopefully she'll end up with two cars so she has a back up. Our oldest managed to wreck her first car just in time to get my old car though so we'll see.

I have a few things on my list for today. I need to clean out the coop again and hopefully get the sand in under their roost bars. I also need to get my temporary hawk defenses up over the yard. I should clean the coop first, though, as it will be quite the maze once the defenses are back up. I just have a bunch of string and foil, currently. I really can't wait until I'm able to get the net up, that's for sure! I need to take a look at the back portion of their yard and figure out how to get a proper fence up before the ground freezes. I have a few weeks before I have to be really concerned, but it will always happen sooner than I think it will.

I have 7 or 8 extra White Giant roos. This morning one of the more under performing growth wise was molesting a Dark Cornish hen while she was on her nest laying. I caught him and moved him to the freezer camp coop.
