What do chicks eat????

I have one bantom chick that is 1 day old. It has no had a drink at all, is that normal??????? What else can chicks eat becides chicken feed.

Yes, that's normal. They live off the yolk sac for the first day or so. You'll want to dip it's beak in a little sugar water (be careful not to dunk it's nostrils & drown it), tomorrow. Also, I usually take a napkin & sprinkle the chick feed onto it in front of the chick and move it around a little. If they are hungry & healthy...they will come over & eat....hope this helps.

Chicks when hatched by a hen eat bugs and small amounts of grass.

I've herd of people giving older chicks, yogurt and oatmeal.

But chick feed should be great for them!
